  • hi, just to confirm you are still paying the ppi on your loan as you mention above that the cost of the ppi came off the loan at the beginning, or did you mean it went onto the loan.

have you got the breakdown of the loan payment and ppi payment seperately, if not do you have the interest rate you are being charged on the loan,

once i know this i can work out what you should be due back.

    cheers
    Hi thanks

The ppi came off at the start of the loan, all the letter said was we would get back the £4192 plus 8% simple interset
    am baffled :o

it does seem a bit baffling,
if you did not pay any ppi then i would have thought you would not be due anything back,
have they confirmed in writing to you how much and how the calculation has been made,

if not it may be worth waiting for this

    cheers
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free
  • What were you reclaiming: 2 loans
Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB
How much did you get back: £7670
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1 letter, many phone calls and I email to lloyds CEO
And then write your brief reclaim tale: Started claim on 14th April 2010, after a lot of avoidance by lloyds (lost letter, manager having family problems, or just totally ignorning me) I wrote an email to the CEO on 23rd Aug, recieved a standard "we are looking into it" letter and was told I would hear within the 8 weeks. Got a letter yesterday saying alhough there was no eveidence of PPI being mis sold they would give me a full refund. Signed acceptance form and now I am waiting for the money to go back into my account. This leaves us totally debt free with a tidy sum left to do with what we wish :-)

Thank you MSE and all the people on this forum for helping me to achieve this victory, I couldnt have done it without this site

Good luck to everyone who are still in the process of a complaint and dont give up, I nearly did a few times but stuck with it due to great help and advise for this forum

  • What were you reclaiming: Credit Card
    Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: £837
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st FO letter template from this site
And then write your brief reclaim tale:
Had phone call telling me I had gone over my limit. They then proceeded to tell me what kind of payment I had to ensure I came back into my credit limit. During this conversation PPI was mentioned, I knew nothing about it. After looking on site I found the info I needed and gave it a go. Took about 4 weeks in total. They have sent me a letter saying that they don't see that they have done anything wrong, and this is purely a gesture of goodwill. Yeah right!! :rotfl::A Not worried, now have the money back as balance is 0. Needless to say, this card will now be getting cancelled.

    Hi again
so am stuck on trying to work out the interest any help would be fab
    so the loan was for
    17,000

the cost of ppi was and came off at the beginning of the loan!
    4,192

    total loan
    21,192

    my monthly payments were
    £318 pm over 7 years

i have 13 months left on loan

they are giving me a simple 8% intrest rate

    what would that total approx

    any help would be lovely

    :D
I think you will find that the ppi was added to the front of the loan and you pay this back monthly with the loan, as you have just over a year to go then you have ppi on there that you have not yet paid. If you are right, could you please tell us how you paid the ppi up front and did you pay that yourself so it was not added to the loan?
as i have not heard this before.
