    Hello all

Preparing to make a claim against HSBC. Just wondered if there was a good succes rate of claiming against them (would love to have time to trawl through the 533 pages of this thread but sadly have not).

Just wondered if someone had been following the thread they could let me know.

    Cheers

Hi wrote to hsbc back in March. It took them until July to reject my claim as they kept delaying their response. I have since reported the matter to the fos on 14th July and still haven't heard anything.

Does anyone know how long the fos are taking now?

    Nearly 25k?
Damn is that the record for the most claimed?
Mine was just short of £30000, but that included ppi of £23000 ppi taken off loan, This just goes to show what a rip off these front loaded ppi "cons" are. There are a lot who have had big paybacks like this, glad these institutions are now feeling the pinch !! Well done to poster for that win.

    Hi,

I hope this helps someone to stick with it when reclaiming. I sent my first letter out on 19th March this year to try and reclaim the PPI which I genuinely believed I had been conned into taking. I got a reply in May telling me that it was all above board and had been sold correctly. I then sent the second letter off on 3rd June threatening the financial ombudsman. Well we won! I received a letter on 14th July giving me a full refund of the insurance premium of £20,326.70p plus interest on the premium to date. I also received a cheque this month for £4,278.83p "in order to put your account in the position it would be if the insurance had not been taken"

My advice is to follow in detail every bit advice given on this web site and don't give in.....good luck:beer:

:j:j:j Well done and congrats :beer:
