Went in to our bank today, sent letter back on Sat, they recieved on Tues, I emailed and asked had they recieved it, she emailed today saying it would be in our bank close of business today ...and it was! Thank god we can get our boiler!! Took ages to get settlement figure but quick to refund!

Thanks again everyone for your positive words! Di ;)

:D:D:D So you wont freeze this winter then :D:D
    Well done x :T
  • Halifax seem the best so far, I had £2300 back within 2 weeks. I class this as a failure though because I went through claims advisory group who charge 39%. £900 is the price for sheer laziness. Also sent one to welcome finance in June. Sent it to the branch where I took the loan out and had no reply. Seems they filed it in the round filing cabinet under the desk. Resent to the claims department on 21st July and received a letter a week later with the usual "thanks for your complaint, will try to resolve it soon after we investigate, you are a valued customer" etc. 5 weeks later still waiting. I estimate I will get a reply late September
    Debts remaining: £0/£16000
PPI reclaimed: Halifax £2300, Welcome Finance - £2400

  • Hi
I have been trying to reclaim my PPI from the Yorkshire bank, my first letter went out to them in April and they have been backwards and forwards since, i received a letter yesterday saying i wasnt misold the PPI and wasnt going to received any of it back. At the time of the loan the Bank rang me to suggest i consolidate all my loans with them and made an appointment to go into the bank for the appointment to discuss how much i would save if i consolidated all my loans, after going through everything i was advised i wouldnt be able to have the loan without the PPI.
The letter states i was advised about the PPI and that i agreed to take it out, but i doesnt mention that i couldnt have the loan without the PPI
Would it be best if i now send this on to the FOS?
    Regards
    Christne

Hi Christine, sorry to hear of your let down, I do think you should make that move on to the FOS now.
It may take some time, but could be worthwhile in the end.

I take it that was the banks final response and they enclosed details of the FOS/leaflet details?
If not then you have the right to write back and ask them to reconsider otherwise - and any further information you can also add let them know as well.

Or as stated above, complain to the FOS, you can do this by downloading and printing off a complaints form online as below link, or contact them for them to send you one.
Remember to enclose copies of all correspondence, with the final decision (copies), and anything you may have to support your case, good luck.

    Good luck.;)

I've had several loans with Black Horse over the years but don't have any details now. If I send in a SAR request I know that it gives details for all the accounts that you have with a company - but would it show whether PPI had been applied to them or not?
  • Successful PPI reclaiming:

Blackhorse - claimed £1500+int; offered and accepted £762.27:j
    Legal and General - claimed £3780+int; received £4403-15 :j
    Loans.Co.Uk - claimed £2850+int; received £3322-50 :j

I followed the advice on this website and used the sample letters. I wrote one letter to each of the companies and without any further problems received offers from both Legal and General and Loans.co.uk more or less immediately. Blackhorse took a little longer and another letter but still over the moon with the refund. Without this website I would not have known how or where to start but now feel like I could take on the world, financially, that is!

Thanks to Martin and everyone who posts. :money::beer:

If they send details of the loans by way of the agreements (mostly they do but only going back 6 years although some have had going back further) then you would tell from them or if they do not, there may be other information enclosed.
