  • Hi,

I hope this helps someone to stick with it when reclaiming. I sent my first letter out on 19th March this year to try and reclaim the PPI which I genuinely believed I had been conned into taking. I got a reply in May telling me that it was all above board and had been sold correctly. I then sent the second letter off on 3rd June threatening the financial ombudsman. Well we won! I received a letter on 14th July giving me a full refund of the insurance premium of £20,326.70p plus interest on the premium to date. I also received a cheque this month for £4,278.83p "in order to put your account in the position it would be if the insurance had not been taken"

My advice is to follow in detail every bit advice given on this web site and don't give in.....good luck:beer:

    Hello all

Preparing to make a claim against HSBC. Just wondered if there was a good succes rate of claiming against them (would love to have time to trawl through the 533 pages of this thread but sadly have not).

Just wondered if someone had been following the thread they could let me know.

    Cheers

    Hi there

Like them all really, there can be huge amounts of success as much as rejects, but just keep at them is best.

But since the FSA have reported about banks rejecting huge amounts of complaints, it seems there have been more success in the last few months.
The FSA are punishing banks for rejecting genuine complaints and for not investigating complaints properly, so if you have a case then go for it.

Just complete the FOS questionnaire, this is in replacement of the first template letter, if you want to write a cover letter to enclose with the questionnaire - that is up to you of course.
Then send to whoever set up/sold you the policy.

Remember to keep copies in case you need to refer to it at some point.
They have 8 weeks to respond, sometimes they write to ask for more time, if they do they generally give you a timescale of when you should hear of a decision, this is okay.

    And post by recorded delivery.

You will come across the FOS questionnaire on the added link, further down the page as Stage one.

Hope this helps, please keep us posted and ask for help anytime too, good luck.;)
