After 10 months I finally got a result!
I had a bank loan with Cooperative bank plc. I used the template 1 they replied and said no. I used template letter 2. They again replied and said no! Quote " Even though you were out of work at the time the advisor knew of the benefits the PPI would have if I was to gain employment" Un quote. I the contacted the financial ombudsman and after 5 months of waiting to hear from them I got a letter stating that they agree with me and the banks offer was: They will calculate what I have paid up to now with the PPI. Calculate what i would have paid upto now without PPi then deduct one from the other and either give me any over payment or give me a new settlement figure. I had £2919 left to pay on the original loan and when they had worked out the figures I only had £258 left to pay. :T
Result me thinks!!!0 -

Hello everyone,
Just to let you know I received the cheques today- halifax loan came to £974.88 and Sainsburys loan came to £2253.33 so in total, £3228.81! Plus no more sainsburys loan which still had a few months to run!
I'm very happy and just want to wish all you guys much success with your claims- and to say thanks: Your successes and fights so helped spur me on with mine. Will let you know how I fare with the dreaded PPI on credit card!
X
Well done! I'm after these two with my claims -canI ask whether Halifax tried to pass this off as not being their responsibility as they use 'Halifax Insurance Ireland' as their insurers? This is the get-out they're trying with me!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -
PPI RECLAIMING
HSBC BANK
£1054.00
AFTER SENDING A STANDARD LETTER DOWNLOADED FROM THIS SITE I RECEIVED A LETTER BACK WITHIN 2 WEEK SAYING THEY WERE LOOKING INTO IT. ANOTHER LETTER ARRIVED A FEW WEEKS LATER SAYING MORE INVESTIGATIONS WERE TAKING PLACE, THEN LAST WEEK LETTER CONFIRMING REFUND OF £1054.00 WHCIH WILL BRING DOWN THE BALANCE OF MY LOAN TO £250.00!!!
i REALLY DIDN'T THINK THIS WOULD WORK - BUT IT DOES!!!!:j
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!0 -
I just checked the balance of my loan and to my suprise i only have £272 left to pay.
Why? Because after writing to Lloydstsb about being mis-sold my one off premium PPI, i finally had some success.
It took about 2 months in all, first i used the template letter for being mis-sold the ppi. "SUPRISINGLY" Lloyds rejected my claim. I then used the second template letter, Lloyds then gave a final response of "up yours", but said if i wanted to cancel the remainder of my PPI i could.
I then refered my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, and rang Lloyds to cancel the remainder of the PPI. Of course they delayed this and made a big song and dance about it (apparently the finance departement didnt recieve their cancellation fax 4 times). Anyway after 5 phone calls and recording the supervisors name the paperwork finally got dealt with and for reasons unknown i got a full refund of the premium payed for the PPI £926 taken off the remainder of the loan.
THANKYOU MARTIN LEWIS and the other forum members :money: .
Moral of the story - keep pestering them till they give up, they'll break before you do!0 -
having read this web site, i wrote off to the halifax to reclaim the PPI on:
1. an unsecured loan
2. a secured loan
3. a credit card.
all of which i had paid off after selling my house.
at first the halifax said no and that i agreed to the PPI
i then went to the ombudsman who took up my case.
after a few months i received a letter for each claim from the ombudsman saying the halifax had agreed to a refund as a good will gesture. this letter didnt say how much but as it seemed to go on and on i agreed to this good will gesture.
i received £2500 for the unsecure loan last week and this morning i received £3700 for my credit card. i am still waiting for the repayment of PPI for the secured loan but expect to receive it any day now.
my advise, send the letters and keep going all the way. the worst thing that can happen is the ombudsman could say no. you will not loose anything but could gain a lot. thanks martin0 -
If you folks have ever had a loan/insurance with Liverpool Victoria, these have been fined for mis-selling, there is a post or 2 on the 'reclaiming discussion' thread about this.
For your information it was in 2003, I wrote to these approx 2 months ago about my ppi being mis sold and there were no quibbles, they paid out within 3 weeks from the date of the complaint letter.;)
Anyway the news on this is that the mis selling had taken place from 2005 to 2008, but if yours were still prior to this its still worth pursuing.
You should hear from these automatically but if you do not then write to them to make sure.;)
Good luck to all involved with these and all the others of course.:D

I'm getting that feeling i am gonna be the unlucky one who doesn't get £ back!! God i was so mis-sold and it's worrying that i may not get it back :-(
my cases have been with fos since November and were only passed to an adjudicant in May 08. I am still getting a 4 week hold lettersaying my case is still be investigated...
I too feel I was mis sold and am getting quite anxious for a decision to be made...but I have to keep the faith!!! and so should you x
