I thought I would give it a go at reclaiming my PPI from LTSB on a £16k loan I took out 5 years ago. I used the template letter on your site and changed it to my circumstances. I got a reply from LTSB within 8 weeks saying they hadn't come to a decision yet and allowed me to approach the financial ombudman, which I did. After a few weeks they replied stating they are looking into it. After this LTSB contacted me with a goodwill gesture stating they would pay me £3445 plus interest, which I accepted.
To my surprise, it appears my loan amount owing has been paid in full plus I have also received £3445!!! I have phoned LTSB at least twice to check this and appears to be true, though I will wait for the confirmation letter to believe it!! If it is true that is approx, £10,000 back.
Thanks Martin!:beer:0 -

Help- how long has it taken you all to get a reply from the FO - i have sent numerous letters to HSBC which either came back with a big fat NO or went off on a tanjent -so we went to the FO whom said within 4 weeks we will get back to you with progress that was 6 weeks ago?!!!!
I'm getting that feeling i am gonna be the unlucky one who doesn't get £ back!! God i was so mis-sold and it's worrying that i may not get it back :-(0 -

Mine took 6 weeks with the FOS
It can take a lot longer, as they have to wait for the bank to respond etc, and not all cases are clear cut.
6 weeks is not a lot in FOS terms, but if you have a case, i would be expecting to hear soon. I kept sending supporting information to help my case, which may have speeded things up.0 -
Financial Institution: HBOS
PPI Amount of premiums refunded: £2531.02
Refund of Interest: £579.43
Interest@ 8%: £819.43
Total £3929.88
RESULT!
Initial complaint raised for mis-selling under single premium policy complaint
2 x rejection letters (standard fob-offs)
2 x letters to FOS
1 x Result
Many thanks to Martin & the Team.
I started last October with a credit rating of 450 (very poor.) Now thanks to the experiences of others, a few stamps & Martin, my rating is now 954 (excellent!)
Bad news for HBOS is that I now have 3 other complaints in the pipeline.

I wrote to the FOS late December early January and they have just came back to me this week, its taking 6-7 months to go through the backlog.
You just gotta be patient and they'll come back to you.
Im sure it will worth the wait
Keep the faith;)0
