Revolut is using Interbank Exchange rate rather than Mastercard exchange rate. In most of cases Interbanks exchange rate is marginally better than better than either Visa or Mastercard exchange rate.0 -
The fee in Thailand varies depending on the card being used (Visa < M/C) at some Thai bank ATMs (maybe out of date).
The fee is fixed at Aeon ATMs (150 baht).
There is no fee at Citibank ATMs.
Thanks for this update. Regarding no fee at Citibank’s ATMs. Is it true in all cases of Citibank’s ATMs in the whole Thailand or just particular ATMs ?
Is this case true in other countries as well where using Citibank’s you could avoid flat fee for foreign ATM withdrawal in the countries where they will traditionally charge you for using their cash machines such as Thailand, some cities in the US ?
(Appreciate the answer from anyone who have first hand experience in this matter or know a reliable source to refer this matter) thanks. The fee is avoidable by walking into a branch and withdrawing over the counter.
I do not think many people will bother to withdraw money over the counter due to hassle involved e.g. ID check, embarrassment. Unless the amount to withdraw is significant above the daily limit, I will be extremely careful in doing this as it might be any other fee involved. In many countries they will charge you to withdraw cash over the counter if the amount is below the common daily limit for cash withdrawal over ATM. If the cash withdrawal is significant people will be using currency brokers instead of using card for foreign currency.0 -

Yes, but there are only a few in Bangkok, I believe. Is this case true in other countries as well where using Citibank’s you could avoid flat fee for foreign ATM withdrawal in the countries where they will traditionally charge you for using their cash machines such as Thailand, some cities in the US ?

Up to the individual whether they think it's hassle or not.
I was referring to Thailand and there is no extra fee.0 -

well I am not impressed with supacard...
I know it's a beta version and that's ok but it's not for me:(
I like transactions to go out of my account a few days - or max a 1 week later...
Supacard must have taken about 2 months!!! it's just too slow - not least when you can do Bank Transfer in minutes! Yes I do keep an eye on my finances but this is the problem for me
Thanks

One of mine hadn't been taken in 6 days, I contacted them and told them and it came out the next day, definitely wouldn't have waited months0 -
I am fairly impressed with my card. I used it to withdraw cash. It showed up on the app straight away and appeared on my linked credit card a few days later.
However I have two main areas of concern which limit for me the attractiveness of the card. Firstly, as has been mentioned a number of times on this thread, Travelex need to vastly improve their customer service line. Secondly it is a pity that Supercard uses Visa and not Mastercard. Even when taking into accont that 0.5% cashback I should receive from my linked card, the rate I have been receiving is still 0.3% to 0.4% worse that transactions carried out at the same time on my Clarity cc.0 -
The Visa Mastercard rate difference is overblown.
On my recent checks the GBP EUR difference was 0.003 EUR
So a third of a cent, which is probably less then get charged using the Halifax Clarity Card to withdraw cash and paying it back a week later.0 -
My experience with Travelex Supercard is NOT GOOD. Had 4 refunds put onto my account on 30 June and 2 made their way back into my bank account. I have email Supercard, phoned them and they consistently LIE!!!. I got an email confirming they had received the 4 credits. I phone and they said Apple hadn't paid them any. I told them that this was untrue as 2 had been paid into my account. Then I got "we have 2, but not the other 2". I told him I had email confirmation from them they had all 4. They would pass this on to another department and get back to me within 24-48 hours. Still heard nothing. Asked them for details of their complaints dept or FCA and they have so far refused to give me theses details.
They have £600 of my money which they are refusing to return, and while on the phone to their call centre could hear in the background people phoning in with similar issues.
Also called TRAVELEX, who stated that it had nothing to do with them, but they too were unable to provide details of the FCA
