I found them very very slow to pay back refunds too. Around 14 days from the receiving the money as been my experience. Which is poor.

Once a CC company receives the money it's usually shown on your account the next day.
  • I signed up for the Supercard trial and after a similar fraught process experienced by many I got registered and activated. Card seemed to work without problems in a number of European countries, but, the sums they deducted from my nominated account were a little larger than the sums shown in their app. I emailed and got the "we have passed this to the correct department" story but no explanations. Today I checked my account and noticed a £1 charge on my card made at a supermarket in a location I haven't visited. Given the small sum involved I am beginning to wonder if this is a fraudulent transaction checking to see if they have the correct details of my card (not from me in ANY WAY). Called Supercard and advised them of the problem and once again the call centre said it was to be referred and I will be called in 24-48 business hours. Beginning to get very concerned about this set up.

Switch the card off in the app when you aren't using it, no chance of fraud then while its being looked at,

as for the variations, I was told it was minor movements in the currency markets between using the card and the money coming out, and was something they were working on
  • Fraudulent transaction problem is getting worse, now have about £2,500 of transactions being charged to my card. Matter reported but will not get a call back for 24-48 working hours have locked my card but stuff still seems to be going through.
PEOPLE CHECK YOUR TRANSACTION DETAILS as the system seem to be busted and open to either sloppy book keeping or criminal activities.

And it's definitely off in app? I only aske because i couldn't even add it to PayPal when off never mind spend two grand
  • Yes is says the card is locked but there seems to be a backlog of transaction with yesterday's date that are filtering through. Problem will be that they are noted at my bank as pending payments and they WILL be deducted from my account. The way I understand it is that I will be reimbursed once Supercard have investigated and confirmed fraud etc.
  • I'm also having issues with my supercard. We used the card in France whilst filling up with fuel. It was a pay on card pump with a maximum amount of fuel of €130. We filled up with €57 but the full €130 has been charged against the card! I've spoken to Supercard who advised to email in with a copy of the receipt. Not heard anything since.

Don't use the card at a pay at pump whilst abroad!

It's stated in the terms and conditions not to use at pay at pump, but you should be fine it will have pre authorised the full amount but only the actual amount will be charged, probably take a week to sort itself out in my experience
  • I've had moderate success with my Supercard in France. It has worked fine for several transactions applied to a John Lewis Partnership Card (MasterCard).

It was refused in a supermarket when I tried linking my Supercard to my wife's First Direct debit card (Visa). The transaction showed in the app a successful for some time, so I was concerned that I had paid twice, but it had disappeared from the app next time I checked after a couple of days.

It was refused when I tried to make a cash withdrawal against my First Direct debit card (Visa). I have checked with First Direct, which says that no refusal is shown on my account, and they do not have any special blocking process against Supercard. Indeed, it said that it should work, since it is all Visa.

I've emailed Supercard and am awaiting a reply.
  • Used it in New York for cash only (have a decent CC for foreign purchases).

Got good rates the only extra was that both US banks (Bank of America & HSBC) added a $3 charge, still much cheaper than the Natwest debit card for the account the money came from :T:
