Travelex Supercard

In some countries notoriopusly in Asia such as Thailand, there is always be a small fee any time you withdraw cash. The fee is flat and this is nothing to do with the card as this local cash machines are owned by the local banks. There is no way you could avoid this fee.
The fee in Thailand varies depending on the card being used (Visa < M/C) at some Thai bank ATMs (maybe out of date).
The fee is fixed at Aeon ATMs (150 baht).
There is no fee at Citibank ATMs.
The fee is avoidable by walking into a branch and withdrawing over the counter.0 -
My experience of the Supercard:
I've used it in three countries - Czech Republic, Italy and Ireland.
I've found that occasionally only when withdrawing money that the amount Supercard posts on the app and the amount taken from my bank account slightly differ. Usually around £2 extra is on my bank account. I rang Santander who said it was nothing to do with them, however the next day Travelex refunded me the £2.
As soon as you make a transaction the supercard updates pretty much straight away. (3's Feel at home means its very easy to check - another massive recommendation!!) Otherwise the rate is very good. On one occasion it came up with both currencies as pounds even though I had definitely spent it in euros. I checked the amount was right in pounds, just not shown in euros.
Overall, my experience has been very good so far, I would recommend and it looks like the mastercard equivalent Revolut looks equally as good.0 -
They are very slow to process refunds, and you can't add cards that are registered at different addresses so that could be a nightmare for a student, or someone who uses business and personal addresses etc..
Those are my only issues.0 -
Contacted Travelex about the overcharging issue. Got a reply saying they are looking into it. No explanation or refund yet...0

Has anyone had any experience of being charged twice for a single transaction with the Supercard?
Just logged onto the app and 2 identical amount have been charged with the same retailer whereas I only made one purchase. I've e-mailed them although I've had no response.0 -
Have you actually been charged twice though? Or os it just showing in app0

I have a Supercard and a Post Office CC. I travel a lot for business so thought the Supercard would be useful.
The PO CC is great but you have to constantly ring them up to tell them you will be in a different country which is not a massive PITA but a PITA nonetheless. The biggest issue is their online account managing is really pants.
When I first started using my Supercard I thought it was great that the transaction came up immediately to see on my phone, but I now realise there are drawbacks. Lots of companies may make test transactions e.g. when buying flights. With a normal CC you will not see these as they come and go with Supercard you do. Also when using hotels you may be charged more than the room value at first but this is corrected a few days later, with Supercard you start panicking you have been overcharged. I could see this being a big thing with hire cars but have not used it for that yet. Real time transactions are not be as good as you think they may be.
The biggest issue for me though is that Supercard is based on Visa and, in my short experience, their exchange rate is not as good as Mastercard (which PO CC uses).
For me, I will stick with my PO CC but may use Supercard for withdrawals when I need cash.0 -

How much does that matter when the difference is so small?
Most people claim to be getting a rate darn close to XE.com
At the moment the Visa GBP-EUR rate is 0.0066 lower than the rate reported by XE.
There doesn't seem to be any official way to check the Mastercard rate on a daily basis.
On ferates.com it's reported as being between 0.00408 - 0.00338 lower than the rate listed on XE
Even spending thousands the difference is negligible.0 -
I've looked but can't find the answer to this, so I hope someone can help. How can I delete the linked (primary) card in the app? I want to ditch that card and replace it with another, but I can't figure out how to do it. Thanks.0

Click my wallet, click on the card you want to remove and then remove card, you'll need to add the other card first and make it primary0
