Travelex Supercard

I dont see the confusion.
You link the travelex card to paypal as you would with any other credit card.
You make the payment in a foreign currency on paypal using the travelex card as the payment method.
Travelex convert it back to £ and that appears on the linked card.
I have my Halifax clarity card linked to my paypal account for foreign currency payments and that gets converted by Halifax with no extra charges from Paypal.
That's the reason for linking the supercard a poster was asking was it possible due to fees on other cards, then the discussion involved into those fees0 -
I honestly can'tremember the last time that happened to me in the UK. I had hoped everything would be pretty seamless but I'll have to keep some cash handy until I see whether there's an issue. I have another emergency debit card but I only have an overdraft on that account.
You don't need to keep cash handy just keep the card it's linked to handy surely?
Don't think it could reasonably be expected to be without issues as its a pretty unique product, and I see on their twitter they are going to make changes to show where a transaction has failed etc as apparently it shows on the app at the minute as a transaction even if it didn't go through0 -
Are you linking a fee free Creditcard, if so there should not be any fee ...
I bougth a few items priced in US$ (but not recent e.g. over a year ago). I link my fee free for foriegn trasaction on my PayPal account, I do not rememebr ever got charged neither fee on it. The conversion is done by Master/Visa card ...
What about other people experience. Did you get charged for paying using fee free reditcard linked to PayPal for item priced in foreign currecncy nowadays ??
I don't have a fee free credit card.0 -

Thanks for the info though as both declined transactions are showing in the app without any indication they were unsuccessful.0 -
Hi Folks,
I'm hoping for some advice please. I linked my Supercard to my debit card while on holiday in June. Everything seemed to go well. I checked my bank account and Supercard app to ensure it was working and it was. Both the app and my account showed all the transactions perfectly and the savings.
The week after returning from holiday I noticed the money I'd spent going back into my bank account. I notified my bank and Travelex (who said it was fine and would go back out within 3 weeks of each transaction). I had since changed my linked card to my credit card and over 4 weeks after my holiday Travelex attempted to take the money owed from that card (thereby triggering exhorbitant fees for ATM transactions).
What can I do??? It defeats the purpose of using the card if I've now incurred these fees as a result of a flawed scheme. Do I have nay recourse here?0 -
You shouldn't get any ATM fees since as to the credit card company using supercard should just look like any other transaction.
Anyway, it's pretty simple, you need to contact both parties and explain the situation.0 -

it hasnt been the supercard transactions causing atm fees, thats one of the benefits. no atm fees0 -
If you link the Supercard to your credit card and withdraw cash using it you will incur these fees. I did not link it to my credit card at the time of the transactions but rather to my debit card. I later changed the linked card to my credit card and as a result of Supercard not properly processing my transactions in the first place they are now trying to debit my credit card thereby making it look like I withdrew cash on my credit card.
Any advice please?0 -
Just to clarify, my credit card company (Barclaycard) has confirmed that I will be charged these fees.0

What are 'these fees' detailed as on your credit card statement?0
