Travelex Supercard

Same here.
There is a real advantage if you link a few CC and DC to Super card as you could switch it any time you want to.glentoran99 wrote: »I've linked two different cards and switched between them in short space of time, and used the card, all transactions came from the correct card0 -

Couldn't even add it to paypal until I turned it back on in the app, so if you keep it off unless using it no-one can do anything with it if its cloned or stolen
Did you manage to add it to paypal in the end?
Is there any problems in doing this?
I but quite a few things on ebay that are charged in euros or dollars so I thought adding my supercard to paypal would help me avoid the credit card fees I usually end up with. But I wasn't sure if I was able to add the supercard to paypal or not - did you get charged anything to it and if so, how does this work?0 -
Update!!
...and there was me thinking it would be a marvellous relationship with my supercard?.....DOH!!
Literally within the last hour have made two attempts to withdraw cash from an ATM in a 7/11 store in S.Korea, both were declined with the error message 'could not verify PIN' .
So I went to a bank ATM and made a successful withdrawal. I have just checked the mobile App. to find one of the failed transactions has been charged to my account!!
I have emailed customer services to start the process of reclaiming the amount and will seek to phone them when the time difference allows.
As a precaution in future I will only try to withdraw cash from ATM's located within banks until my confidence returns on this product.
...I think I need a beer now! :eek:0 -
Has anyone been charged a different amount to the amount in the app?
Made a purchase on Monday in Euros, showed in the app as £188.xx. A few days later, when the purchase actually posted, it showed as £187.xx as the exchange rate has improved. However, the amount actually charged to my credit card is the higher amount (not the amount now showing in the app).0 -
I have now had chance to use the card and have to say I am less than impressed.
Okay, theoretically you get a good exchange rate and can save money, HOWEVER, that is assuming the card is not declined. Out of 15 attempted transactions, only 10 were successful.
You cannot use the card for pre-authorisation, and it will not work with pay-at-pump petrol stations - of which there are a growing number in Belgium and France.
The worst problem came on checking out of a hotel when a €1200 transaction was declined twice, but then on checking my app later saw that in fact it was showing as approved. As I subsequently had to put the payment on to my NatWest CC instead, this may have caused serious issues. Whilst it is still showing as a successful transaction it has not, as yet, appeared on my linked CC, and the hotel has confirmed that as far as they are concerned the transaction did not go through, so any authorisation will not have been confirmed.
I contacted the Supercard customer services but they did not seem to understand the problem. There was no explanation as to why, and how, the card could be declined but then show up as approved to them. I provided a copy of the hotel's transaction log, but they still have not removed the failed transaction from the app, and seem to have no idea as to what has happened - indeed, I get the impression that their internal systems are nowhere near robust enough for the complexities of this card.
With the problems I have had I now tell the operator that the card may fail, but to give it a try, and if it fails I will give them another. This is not a good advert for Travelex, but it does mitigate some of the embarrassment at the till/checkout/reception when the card is declined.
33% is a very poor failure rate, and if I am to rely on this card in the future I will be expecting some explanation of what is going wrong. Some teething problems are to be expected, but it is important for Travelex to show they are working on resolving these issues - not make things worse by providing such a poor customer services experience.0 -

You are made aware of this in the T&C0 -
