So i've been really pleased with the card while away on holiday, every transaction worked and showed immediately in the app and i know i saved some money, only problem when i checked my Bank Statement online is that its taken the money out of my account AND reserved the same off my avaliable balance. I called Barclays to check it was only a pre-authorisation debit and was told No its actually taken the transaction twice but the second will automatically reverse within 10 working days- by which time i'll be on my Overdraft so the savings i made will be taken by Overdraft fees. Not sure if i'll take it next time i go away or not now, i suppose its safer than cash but i can't really afford to cover all my transactions twice if that happened again!0

Finally (several weeks later) heard back about the overcharging issue.
Rather than refunding the overcharge, they've just updated the amount shown in the app to match the amount taken from my account. No explanation given as to why the discrepency occured.
(Well, I know exactly why it occurred. The amount taken from my account was the authorisation, the amount shown in the app was the actual transaction. They appear to be debiting the auth amount from people's linked cards.)0 -
And since they happen at slightly different times the exchange rate is different. So I guess sometimes you win sometimes you lose.
Can see how it could be a pain.0 -
Well, its now 5 weeks since they recieved a refund of £156 and it still has'nt made it's way back to my linked card.
All I get is one thousand apologies and a promise it has been passed to the escalation team.
Give me strength .0 -

I took the super card to France in July and August. It all worked brilliantly for the first three ATM transactions at Credit Agricole. Then on 1 August I tried to withdraw €350 euros from Credit Agricole in our local town. At the end of the transaction I got a message on the screen saying I should contact my bank. No money was distributed. When I checked my super card app I saw that the transaction was listed as having gone through! Panic. I had to call Santander (my bank) on bad mobile phone line to see if they had blocked the transaction for some reason. They hadn't but said it was in the pending area and would be collected by Supercard in five days unless Supercard faxed them to say they didn't want the money. After several emails to Supercard I got assurance that the money would not be taken and it has not been. But the transaction still shows on the app. I can only assume Credit Agricole for some reason refused the transaction but obviously the Supercard itself has no mechanism for detecting this. Perhaps that is a tweak they could make, because if I hadn't been able to check my app or get hold of my UK bank, I would have assumed the transaction had been blocked by my UK bank and would not have challenged it. In any event is was stressful and I did not dare use the Supercard again in case the same thing happened.0

They have said they will be updating the app to show status of transactions0

As noted earlier a number of transactions appeared on my card that I did not make. All were on-line purchases in the UK (I have only used the card abroad or for non-sterling purchases). Although customer service said it had been raised for investigation there was no contact from them so I turned to my bank for assistance (first direct). They were great, refunded the disputed transactions and took the matter up with both Supercard and Visa. Some days later the funds for the disputed transactions were repaid to my bank by Supercard but still no info from the service prevention team. New card arrived and successfully activated but haven't yet had the nerve to turn it on an use it. Next trip is a long one so fingers crossed it works.0
