You need to state facts if you summise :)
It's me who is on the wrong contract AND it was unclear it's a clearance phone (didn't say on the front page, and no clarity on what "clearance" means on the order page - just that word at the top)

Yeah I pretty much summed up the thread accurately, but thanks anyway for your as ever useless, trolling input to the discussion.

Are you still smarting because you didn't read the other thread properly?
    Don't be bitter :)

You may be on the wrong contract, since this has not been confirmed or denied, spunky was wrong to state you are on the wrong contract.

You obviously did not read the pages properly in haste to get your "Shiny new phone" because it was clear that it was a clearance phone from the information provided on the site.:)

I think signing up to 500+500 for £40 but getting 500+250 for £39.99 is not the same so it is not the contract I signed up for.

W.r.t. clearance, it only explains (well that was the case then, dunno about now) in the FAQ section what this means. Clicking through from the front page (where no "Clearance" was mentioned") right through to placing the order, there was not at any time anything to suggest that clearance meant a used/returned phone. This includes their Ts&Cs which I read.

The phone was "as new" so can't be bothered to take it up under trades descriptions, but if goods are not new then it must be explicitly stated. To me "clearance" means "we want to get rid of them so we're incentivising you to buy them" (cheaper price, better deal, whatever).

So we'll have to agree to disagree.

I've tried to contact mobiles2yourdoor via email and phone and they don't respond to either. When I ring them I just get an automated message saying they're busy and then hangs up. Also I've done a search for reviews on them and came across this thread on quidco http://www.quidco.com/blog/?p=105

It seems quite a few people posting there are having issues as well.

Has anyone verified if the contract is 500 mins + 500 texts or 500 mins + 250 texts?

So to add to the list we now have:

    - People have not received their SIM with the phone
    - People have received 2 SIMs instead of 1
    - People have not received their free gift
    - People have not received their redemption certificates
    - People have been told they cannot change their address
    - People have been sold clearance phones with no indication the phone is a clearance product
    - People have been placed on the wrong contract
    - People have had orders cancelled for nonsense reasons and not been informed
    - People get no response to queries both email and phone queries
    - People get no order confirmation whether the order is successful or not
    - People do not receive a copy of the Terms & Conditions of the offer

    - People get no order confirmation whether the order is successful or not

The way the email was sent to me i realised that they would not tell me what happened i would just get a phone ...which is what happened....

    - People have received 2 SIMs instead of 1

This happened with me as well but the other sim is not connected but however its good to have a spare simcard because if u loose yours you can do a sim swap and get your number active on there in 30 mins ....

The others listed i have not had yet ....the terms and conditions of the contract and the insurance are included however the site terms and conditons are not fully there but it does say check online for the full terms and conditions....

    - People have been placed on the wrong contract
at the end of the day its just a sales consultant entering the details as he has recieved it and its just human error but can be sorted out without a problem ....

Sorted out by who??? If they don't answer the phone or reply to emails!!
  • Hello All,

I've been browsing MoneySavingExpert since the early days but never posted. Finally decided to post :T.

Mobiles2YourDoor say on their website that you have upto 60 days (from the claim date) to claim. This gives a longer time frame to get the cashback claim in correctly.

Taking into account the above, and that they are part of Phones4U (and that I can't find a vodafone cashback deal through any other retailer, other than Phones4U ofcourse) I was ready to take a contract out with them.

Having read comments on this forum, and other sites about Mobiles2YourDoor not responding much to customers queries has worried me.

Does anyone know of any other retailers providing Vodafone cashback deals?
  • Plenty if you're brave to go there!

Well that's pretty useless to be quite honest. It's really not hard and is in fact the norm for website retailers to send automated order confirmations throughout the order process and then to send a final email with tracking details for the item being sent.

Yeah a lot of people have said that but it's a hassle, regardless of how small, to determine which SIM card is the correct one. Besides it's possible to get FREE SIM cards from just about all the networks. So "having a free SIM card" is no more hassle than me ordering one online for free.

Now sorry but that's just unacceptable. Considering how hard it is already to fulfil the T&Cs of many cash back schemes and considering how many retailers frequently change, without notice, their T&Cs it's essential to have a hard copy, as proof, of the T&Cs when you placed the order.

Agreed, mistakes do happen. But as has already been pointed out, if there is not easy way to rectify a mistake quickly it's going to be very easy to get burned by this company.
