Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Hi all,

My order for a vodafone cashback contract through MTYD was rejected. Confirmed from MTYD that the order was rejected by Vodafone - and possible reason is "failed credit rating".

I probably should have let it go, but I felt annoyed and had to order my credit score. So, I ordered my credit score through creditexpert.co.uk - and the score is "Good". No failed or late payments, limited credit card use, balance always paid in full, did not use overdrafts or loans in last 10 years. Used 8 different mobile phone contracts in last 10 years - never had problems - so I am bit surprised. Can anyone tell me how Vodafone does these credit checks??

I ordered through a cashback website (topcashback.co.uk) - does that make any difference?
One more thing, I received two Vodafone PAYT sim cards last month (I wanted only one, but due to communication error, ended up receiving two) - does that make any difference?
Is there any way I can ask them to reconsider??

I really want to get the Vodafone contract - and it is so much cheaper to get it through MTYD (albeit, with a high risk factor).

    Thanks a lot,

No you dial 0808 0945 945 and press option to move your PAYT No to your contract NO

Its called migrating I have done it twice and it does not involve restarting contract or effect the commision paid to the dealer

PAYT porting say it's possible, but they can't do it for the next couple of weeks as they're moving to a new system called "Crystal"

Contract porting tell me it used to be possible, but not now or in the future because of the move to Crystal.

Remembering "be nice to all moneysavers"....

i know this is a really basic question, but this M2YD is my first mobile contract ever (PAYT always did fine)

The contract is ending in May so how do I cancel the contract without stuffing up the final cashback, paying more money than needed by having the contract longer than necessary, and getting the number transferred onto a PAYT sim (as I want to keep the number for a bit) It's with vodafone.

    Please be gentle! Thanks.

Call and give notice to end the contract on its anniversary. You can do that any time within 60 days of that date allowing 30 days notice. They should confirm it in writing. Also ask them to transfer the sim on the end date to a PAYT. You may well need to go through to the "thinking of leaving" option - will get through a lot quicker that way usually too!

    Is that gentle enough??

P.S. If you make sure you don't use the phone on the last day you may find there is a small amount of credit on the PAYT sim. Since you're supposed to make one call every 90 days so if you (for example) want it mainly for incoming calls that should help.

Very gentle, very clear and very helpful! Having never having cancelled a mobile contract before, I didn't want to feel my way through it, only to stuff up the M2YD aspect!

    Thank you!!!!

    Hi, I recented bought Nokia 6300 40 pm, 12 month with 10 months free (400 redemption) on Mobiles2yourdoor .

The order confirmation mail did mention redemption of 400 gbp but when I received paper work with the phone, there is NO mention of the redemption offer, terms and condtions for redemption etc in the contract...

I did call and mailed MY2D and got in an email that I am eligible for the offer and he did send me the redemption details with amount and dates in email. He said he will send the redemption certificate which has not come yet.

I had taken E2SAVE cashback deal earlier and it had a mention of the
redemption offer details on the contract itself.

    1) IS THIS NORMAL OR AM I IN TROUBLE??

    2) Why do they not metion the redemption offer detail with the contract?

    3) I am feeling scared if they will honour the email or the written contract on the paper?

    4) Why have they not sent the redemption offer details with the contract?

Since I am still under cooling off period, I can cancel the contract if the experts on the forum suggest that I am going to be in trouble.

Please respond ASAP so that I can make decision to continue with the deal or cancel it.

    Regards

If you don't do your research don't be surprised by the unexpected. READ the t&c on the website which are perfectly clear. READ these threads too. Follow all the groundrules or don't do ANY cashback deals.

I did read the T&C and my question is not about the T&C.

I was only interested to know if MY2D sends the redemption offer details along with the phone contract paper work or not.

I thought they should send and there is some error in my paper work.

    Experts please confirm.

I did receive email confirmation of the redemption offer by customer care but is that sufficient?

    Regards

agm123 I think you are referring to the missing claim form.

I have a contract via M2YD which begain in August 2008, the first claim was in Jan 2009.

I did not receive the first claim form with the phone when it initially arrived.

The deal is that 30 days prior to your FIRST claim date - you will get a claim form sent to you automatically.

I queried why I had not been sent the form - and was told that and it did arrive as they said.

Equally I have another contract via Phones4u (parent company of Mobiles2YourDoor), with that paperwork the claim form was sent along with the redemption details.

I just think they operate differently but if you phone up, they wil confirm - in fact like you I was worried but did all my checking via phone and telephone.

I also saw mention of when the first claim form is sent on their web site somewhere.

After your first claim form has been sent and you are paid with a cheque, the cheque arrives with the second claim form and so forth.

    Also see http://www.mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk/Help/faq-cash-back-and-redemptions.asp
You should receive a redemption certificate by post within 30 days of your first redemption date. If you have not received your redemption certificate please contact our Customer Service team at customer.services@mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk or phone them on 0870 901 4711 (Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 10am-5pm) who will arrange to re-send a copy to you by post. First redemption periods for chequebacks are normally due at month 6 of your contract.

    Hi, Thanks for replying.

My question is not about the redemption claim form. I read that they will send that when it is due.

I have received my contract and phone recently. But there is no metion of Redemption offer on the mobile contract papers or on any other paper I received from them.

So how would I prove that I had bought the phone with redemption offer and how much redemption am I eligible for, in case they deny it in future.

So it is really a question of having it in writing from MY2D that I bought the phone contract with Redemption offer.

DID you receive Redemption offer details with your paperwork?
