I still haven't heard back from Vodafone whether you can transfer a number to a PAYT sim then move it to the Vodafone contract on connection - is it urban (forum) legend or has anyone had success?
Many thanks
Anon
No urban legend, I did it back in Nov... however, things can change but i am planning to do this again next month. see post above:j  :j0 -
Right guys, a cashback claim question for you.
i am approaching the end of my 12 months with 12 months free contract. the cashback is claimed at months 6, 8, 10 and 12.
i was planning to give my 30 days notice so that my contract would be cancelled at the end of the 12 month. However, i am not sure if this will effect my last cashback claim because my contract would not be live when making the final cashback claim. In otherwords do i have to do 13 months to make the last cashback claim, or is it ok to cancel after 12 months and still get the last cashback cheque.
thanks in advance.
p.s. m2yd do accept online printouts for cashback claims.0 -
Cancel it.0

i take it that you mean i will get my last cashback cheque even if my contract is cancelled whilst they process the claim?0
-
Yes. I do. I just did that with one of mine (though covered myself first by checking with them). In any case, it isn't 12 months free on a 12 month contract if the contract needs to run for one year and a day in order to get paid!0

I got the claim form a few days later in the post.
Well I can confirm that I have Ported my O2 number to a voda PAYT sim, ordered a M2YD phone, Then ported in my PAYT number in to the contract phone. I have a letter from M2YD to say that this will not effect CB (although P4U were unable to guarentee this when I wanted to order from them) anyway it is in writing. So far so good. The final step will be CB. But i am confident as they do not appear to be an underhand company (yet!!!) but if any probs I will go straight for the LBA / MCOL route.
Hi nicole im following your posts....i also sent an email toM2YD, that i want to move from 3 PAYG to voda if it wud effect cashback eligibility. They replied as... if vodafone allows to port your existing number then it will not effect your CB claim. Now i just wanted to check with you that in your post (645) you have mentioned "Then ring porting back, ANYTIME within that 1st yr of the pay monthly contract and switch the PAYT no to the Pay monthly."
(do you mean they give one year or so to port the existing number...?)
"she told me the exact days to ring in with the PAC so it is not activated too early and invalidating CB on the final bill".
could i ask you who told you this? i mean Voda girl or somebody from M2YD. and i would like to konw that when you got your new phone from M2YD was it connected to Voda already...if yes it seems like Voda have no probs when we want to port existing nos to their network.well may be there would be some time restrictions. anyways i always found your post very sensible and helpful, so keep it up. thanks0 -
I ported my O2 No to a Voda PAYT and then ordered a contract Voda via Mobiles 2 your door, Then called vodafone porting and put my PAYT no in to the contract No. SO It can be done.
Ill let you know how the first cashback goes but I have already got it in writing to day its fine from M2YD
nicole136, when exactly did you do the porting into the contract? After you'd received the phone? Before making any use the number it came with? Did the process involve restarting the contract? Did they swap numbers so the contract number from the new phone moved to your PAYT sim? And have you had any cashback yet?0 -
