That was more recently, so they may have changed policy by now, but the vodafone help is talking about porting, which I swapped the No's. I have seen lots of other voda help saying it is not possible but I was able to do it, I rang and spoke to several different workers about it.
My final say on this matter is ring up porting as I have outlined in my post and try it? Thats the only way you will know for sure

My daughter has cocked up the last cashback claim of 4 that is due to be sent to M2YD on 28/2/09. The contract is in my name and due to end in March, but in Jan she phoned Vodafone about an upgrade and had a new phone sent out. I cancelled the upgrade and sent the phone back. Vodafone returned the contract date to end back to 7/3/09, but did not put the tariff back to 500 mins 500 texts for £40 and left it on 600 mins unlimited texts for £25. I spoke to a guy in Billing and he said they could not put the contract back to the old one as it no longer existed. The Feb bill which I need to claim the cashback with has the new tariff on it, so I assume M2YD will not payout any cashback.
I have just spoken to another CS rep at Vodafone, who said they maybe able to transfer it back to a similar contract for the same tariff of £40, but to speak to M2YD first. I normally send the cashback claim form on the day it is valid, namely my claim date is 28/2 and would normally send bill dated 11/2. If you wait to claim later into the 60 day claim period can you send a later bill?0 -
Yes you can. However, the March bill won't look right either. It's the way Vodafone bills work. It will show part months from the date the tariff/billing system changed. I would never make such a mistake, but if I was in this situation I would speak with Mobiles2YourDoor. You/she may well be at their mercy - but unlike E2Save they may show some. If not you only have your/herself to blame for not following the groundrules - I did write them for a reason and those failing to so do create their own peril. These contracts lose money for the dealers - no-one should blame them for legitimately sticking to the t&c (E2Save ignore and dishonestly reinvent them to suit themselves but this dealer does use theirs honestly). I now have lots of experience with this company, just as I have "enjoyed" for a long time in the case of cpw. If you stuff up it is part of the game and you must accept the consequences. You have a far better chance with Mobiles2YourDoor than cpw nowadays.0

That's what I thought about the March bill, so it looks like she's lost out, through her own fault. I was thinking I might just change sending the Feb bill as normal and see if they pay it. As I have just taken out a new cashback deal for myself Vodafone have clubbed the 2 contracts on the same bill. Also i will do as good a deal as I possibly can on the upgrade as she's not bothered about doing another cashback deal as she wants the Nokia 5800.

I don't need one of your lectures about following the rules, I have not lost out on the cashback, it's my daughter, I've never had any problems with my own cashback deals and claimed them all successfully and will continue to do them for myself. The problem is when you do them for other people and they are not as patient as you and me and are seduced by early upgrades. I for one, cancel the contracts and take out another cashback deal, rather than upgrade.
I spoke to M2YD today and was told that if you upgrade, you invalidate your cashback claim. I still might as well send the claim off, nothing ventured, nothing gained.0 -
Any news on porting to Vodafone via mobiles to your door? They have some good offers on but unless I want a new number they look out of my scope...0

Why don`t you contact vodafone and tell them the contract is with you not your daughter. They have no right to alter your contract. Insist they put everthing back as it was.0 -

Because the phone was purchased in my name as my daughter had just moved back to this country, after living abroad for 7 years, so had no credit rating. Also I gave her authority on the account to save me phoning them when she had any queries. I did not realize that that included being able to upgrade the account, Vodafone said the only thing she cannot do is cancel the account.
I have sent off the cashback claim and enclosed the Jan bill which shows the old contract details and the Feb bill with the upgraded details. The worst thing is they can reject the claim, but if you don't ask you don't get.
I'm just trying at the moment to get a better deal now from Vodafone as the contract ends this week, but the best they have offered so far is a new phone and no reduction in price.0 -
Fantastic News re Post 723
I have today received my final chequeback for £110 even though my daugher had upgraded early. I sent my invoice for Jan and Feb whic showed the original contract she was on and the new contract. I don't know if the fact I had taken out a new contract for myself in Jan helped.0 -
That is good. Be glad it wasn't cpw or you wouldn't have been paid. For quite some time, this dealer has been excellent in many ways - although it must never be assumed it will always be so. Many E2Save customers came unstuck through complacency - things do change. It is always important to understand, accept and stick to the t&c on any cashback deal - but at present there is no better place to be than with Mobiles2Yourdoor.0

Is there any specific time of the month that deals change on M2YD? I've been looking intermittently, but not seen a pattern.
Pm me please if you have a theory and don't want the info public!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
