Not what I've just been told by them. They have said I can port a number to a new contract from a Vodafone PAYT sim after the contract has started, even when not purchased direct. I've never liked porting with cashback deals - but when one of mine is up early next year I will see if it's possible (seems it may be despite other things I've read and been told, but won't do anything which may affect my cashback until I have that in writing. Must always follow the groundrules!

I have read a number of threads about this (other network to Vodafone PAYG, Vodafone PAYG to new Vodafone Contract phone from M2YD) but has anyone had any success yet? All the best deals seem to be Vodafone (with Phones4u/Mobiles2yourdoor as the most reliable offer at the moment) and I am stuck without being able to move my number.

    Many thanks

  • Vodafone have now told me more than once that it can't be done. I have sent the relevant number to a PAYT at the end of the contract and will then ask again nearer the time - starting with written confirmation from Mobiles2yourdoor/Phones4u that it wouldn't affect the cashback. That is naturally assuming that there IS a totally free deal on after the contract ends. Even if there is I have to assume that it can't be done. In my case I'd rather have the free contracts and lose the numbers than let that consideration spoil the fun!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just wanted to encourage all first time mobile cashbackers like myself.

Took out a contract in May this year, followed the instructions, sent off my claim form 10 days ago and a nice cheque landed on my mat this morning. In ye olde credit crunch time, these guys are still doing what they say they'll do. Thank you M2YD.

  • Hey guys,
I've been tempted in by a M2YD offer with cashback by redeption and know that i need to read the conditions carefully to make sure i can meet them and i can make sure i don't go wrong and lose some big bucks but i can't for the life of me understand what the conditions are saying:
Send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 60 days of the date stated on the relevant redemption claim form, to us and we will credit you by cheque with 25% of the total amount at each redemption period*

This will save you the stated amount over the 12 month duration of the contract.

*Approximately 25%, the combined total of all Four Cheques will be equal to the stated amount.

for a £360 cashback in total by redemption on a £40 per month contract charge can someone please explain what the conditions are trying to tell me.

    Thanks in advance

Exactly what they say. They will pay £90 for each claim provided you send them in at the right time and meet all the t&c. If you can't understand that much I recommend you avoid cashback schemes all together!

I have used MTYD this year on a cahsback deal and I cannot fault them.

I am looking to change phones as my contract is due to expire but, like a number of other people, have found that the best cashback schemes involve Vodafone who will not port the number if a phone is bought through a 3rd party, i.e. MTYD.

I have spotted this deal and, with time running out for my PAC code, will probably go for it:

    http://www.mobileexpress.co.uk/aw1/basket.aspx?sitetype=contract&item=deal&action=add&dealcode=740-0-934-11256

Mobile express is, like MTYD, an affiliate of phones 4 U so I hope their cashback service is as good as MTYD's.
  • Hi there, please can someone give me some advice on my rights for a cancelled order? Ive had a bad experience with this company (mobiles2yourdoor) and have cancelled the order I placed on line on Saturday (started with the fact they didnt make it clear i couldnt port an O2 no to the vodafone package I was sold, though they had said in the email that Its possible by phoning vodafone direct). Despite them confirming the order has only been processed today apparently they cant cancel it. I suggested that i would refuse the delivery and the lady (rude and sarcastic throughout the very unpleasant conversation) siad if I did I couldnt cancel the contract and I would also be responsible for the phone if it was damamged or lost before it was returned to them. She said I had to sign for it and then wait for them to post a returns bag. I said I would only do this if they would confirm by email that I wouldnt then be contracted or obligated to the contract, in case they tried to subsequently charge me anyway, and she refused as she would put comments on her screen which was good enough so I would have to accept that. She refused to give me her name and also all the managers were to busy to speak to me or call me back. What I need to know if anyone is able to confirm is my legal position on cancelling the contract and refusing the delivery when it comes....am I legally within my rights to do this (I have also emailed them my cancellation request this morning and again asked for confirmation late this afternoon...both have been ignored)? Many thanks in advance.

Once the phone is delivered to you, you have right to cancel within 7-14 days under distance selling regulations. Call them after you've received the phone and say you would like to return it back...and ask for returns authorisation code and returns envelope.

Once you give your intention to cancel the contract, the phone contract with network gets terminated....as well.

Not cashback, but you also have to pay for the phone AND it's a 24 month contract.
