There is better. Grabbed my latest on Saturday but it doesn't pay to advertise. However, that particular deal is pretty close. Why not have both rather than cancel? Though you may have problems getting a second before another 30 days or more have elapsed, so if you cancel you could end up with neither!0

so what is your exact plan of action?
I have just ordered my M2YD contract on Vodafone......
Should I register the sim when it arrives or not?
Yes I am going to port to the PAYG sim when it arrives, order through MTYD, activate it and then go back to the person who said i could swap No's, but as its been said on here it looks unlikely but i will be trying it anyway...
do you think its worth calling voda before you activate your sim then?:j  :j0 -
from what I read on the VODA forum, once you have activated the sim you can't transfer in. You need to ring them up and get a new sim (hopefully with your ported number) sent out!0

mobilejunkie - a quick question re cashbacks with M2YD or Phones4u - I plan on using printouts of my online O2 invoices. I have emails from phones4u confirming these are acceptable.
I would just appreciate your first hand knowledge - have you used onilne printouts when making successful cashback claims with M2YD/phones4u.
I have plenty of time until my first cashback so could easily get original invoices if needed - I have done all my reading/research - and am clear on what I need to do (phones4u even sent me an email with a schedule giving me the various claim dates - I will include a copy of the email with each claim highlighting the respective claim date)
As an aside - although the website says you cant port to O2 - this is not the case. Received phone, called phones4u to confirm delivery - O2 SIM was activated 2 min after I called - 5 min later called O2 and gave them my PAC (from virgin) - 2 days later number was ported to O2.
Had checked (and received email) from Phones4u that porting number does not invalidate any cashback claim.
Thanks for your reply re: online print out invoice0 -
You say you have done all the research.
You must have missed this post (just above) and its answer:

The website doesn't say you can't port to o2, it does however say:We currently only support number porting when transferring to T-mobile, Orange, Three, Virgin and BT Mobile, but not Vodafone or O2.
That's not to say you can't do it yourself by contacting the new provider direct as you did.
However, Vodafone will definitely not allow you to transfer, port or switch once a number has been assigned.0 -
Not what I've just been told by them. They have said I can port a number to a new contract from a Vodafone PAYT sim after the contract has started, even when not purchased direct. I've never liked porting with cashback deals - but when one of mine is up early next year I will see if it's possible (seems it may be despite other things I've read and been told, but won't do anything which may affect my cashback until I have that in writing. Must always follow the groundrules!0

I have an email from M2YD confirming porting after connectionwill not affect cashback.
What were you told exactly with Vodafone and by who? I'm not sure whether to activate my sim and phone from M2YD which is sat infront of me or return it under the 14day cooling off period.
I did email M2YD 2hrs after I had ordered to cancel the order on Sunday yet it still got sent out. I did receive this email:Thank you for your recent e-mail, Mobiles2YourDoor are unable to process cancellations via e-mail however, should you wish to cancel please contact our customer services team on 0870 901 4711 and we will be happy to help.
Should you require any further assistance please respond to us at customer.service@mobilestoyourdoor.co.uk
Kind Regards,
after delivery though from talktous@Phones4u.co.uk
Useless!
I would really like to keep my number0 -
I lie, I have just phoned them again and they have said it is definitely possible.
Don't mention porting from another company etc. etc. just mention that you have an existing Vodafone contract and you wish to transfer your Vodafone PAYG number onto this account.
How you go about getting your number onto Vodafone PAYG account is simple. Just phone them on 08080 408 408 and order a free sim but give them your PAC code.0 -
Alternatively (what I was told) when you give notice to terminate the existing contract also ask them to put the number on a PAYT sim at that time; then port it back to the new contract once you have a suitable on up and running. However, I won't do that until I have written confirmation from the dealer(s) that it won't affect the cashback on the new contract.0
