Alternatively (what I was told) when you give notice to terminate the existing contract also ask them to put the number on a PAYT sim at that time

I am guessing your existing contract must be Voda??

; then port it back to the new contract once you have a suitable on up and running. However, I won't do that until I have written confirmation from the dealer(s) that it won't affect the cashback on the new contract.

It's not a case or porting Vodafone into vodafone. It's what they refer to as a transfer of number as it is internally done....

Porting is one provider to another

I have again spoke to Voda PAYT cust services, call and time logged. She said it can be done and i have got the instructions. The process will have been done mid november for me, I guess the proof of the pudding is in the eating so no point debating it, Ill let you know if it comes off or not. I have it in writing from M2YD that it wont affect my cashback. (hard copy)

Got my PAC code from o2
ordered my voda PAYT sim free online last week
have been told to phone on 6th nov (as want O2 contract to end on 8th) to Port PAC on to PAYT sim, by phoning them. I have not switched on or registered PAYT sim till then.
Ordered voda pay monthly via M2YD
Got it in writing that a port / No change, will not affect cash back in anyway.

Then ring porting back, ANYTIME within that 1st yr of the pay monthly contract and switch the PAYT no to the Pay monthly.

she told me the exact days to ring in with the PAC so it is not activated too early and invalidating CB on the final bill

Ill let you know if it works.

Those are the exact same dates I must follow!

Although I have decided to send my M2YD phone back and just go through quidco and get a Voda Sim Only Deal. That way I will make £10 for 4mths use and can then shop around for better deals again in 4mths time.

Hopefully the better deals wont be on Vodafone so there will be no faffing around with porting and transfers.

Although I may just stay on my o2 tariff for an extra week then if your method works I'll order again from M2YD.
