You send the latest bill you have at the claim date - so in your case, July.

Were going to still send the July Bill anyway
But got an e-mail back M2YD
Before acting on this e-mail or opening any attachments you are advised to read
the Phones 4U Ltd disclaimer at the end of this e-mail.
    =======================================================

    Our Ref: 17******
    15 August 2008

    Dear Mrs E*****

Thank you for your email regarding your Cheque back claims.

I can confirm that to send a printed copy of an online bill is acceptable to
submit with your claim form. I have taken the liberty of requesting a claim form
for you as today is day 1 of the eligibility period for your first claim.

You have 60 days within which to send your claim form to us, I would recommend
sending the claim form as early as possible and by recorded delivery if you can
so that you have proof of delivery.

The bill you will need to send is the bill received after the valid claim date.

I hope this is helpful to you.

    Kind regards

On my claim form it says to send it with a copy of your most recent network bill. My claim date is 1/9/08, so I am going to send my bill dated 13/8/08.

Nyck - it's up to you. The Ts & Cs for the M2YD offers have been pretty clear and I've always done what I've said. If you want to follow the advice of an email, fine, but do be prepared to enter into a fight with them since the people at the cashback claims centre will apply the usual rules as pointed out by ioscorpio. In short, unless your paperwork suggests otherwise, that is what I'd do.

Huhh, if your claim date is 01/09/08 and you then have 60 days in which to make it then why are you sending in a bill pre-dating that claim date?

Just send in one dated after the opening of your claim window, otherwise you might as well send in a bill from January 2008, as it falls into the same period, i.e. before the claim date.

Jan. 08 bill would not be the most recent bill. The August bill would be the one to send to ensure the cashback is paid the quickest. Saves waiting for the Sept. bill.

Exactly. You send in the latest bill you have when your claim window opens. What's so difficult to understand about that, I'm not sure!

OK January wasn't the best example, but August is too early, it must be AFTER the date on the claim form, else it doesn't prove you are still on the contract at the claim date (one of the T&C's).

Have you got a contract with them? Is this what you have been doing?

Because I and many others on this forum have been following the instructions ON THE CLAIM FORM on which you sign in agreement to the conditions contained therein, which say to send in your latest bill.

You pointing out the technicalities about what does/doesn't prove being contracted is irrelevant. You send in what they ask for, you get a cheque back. Simple - and guess what - it works!

This is what all my forms have looked like to date:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=523761&page=11

It doesn't say that the bill has to prove you are in contract, it's just a condition that you should be.

  • Having been involved in several cashback deals over the past 3 years or so, I know that you must keep exactly to the T&C's contained from the seller Company, or they can simply turn back and say your claim is invalid and refuse to pay any of the claims.

This was the norm for such Companies as MobileOutlet.com and Mobileshop et al. They made their money by not paying out CB (oh and then by going into liquidation!!).

My view on the T&C's of the claim form by M2YD were that you send the bill (copy) that you receive after the claim date opens, and seeing as you have 60 days to send it, then you must receive one that's dated after that claim date, as even the last claim comes before your last bill on either a 12 or 18 month contract.

If you think you can send the bill you hold at that date, and it works for you then carry on, I'll stick to my routine, I have always been sucessful in my claims.

And take a chill pill, don't have a cow!
