I don't know what the address of M2YD cashback is. If they are using a PO Box then Royal Mail say RD does not necessarily produce a signature. With SD someone has to sign for it, even with a PO Box. Personally I would always go with SD if the document is very important. I'm not using M2YD at the moment, but it seems that obtaining a replacement cashback form can be difficult. As ever, you pay your money and take your choice.
mine RDs have always been signed for - i.e. POD on RM website.

RD to PO Box number will not normally be signed for - simply because there is not usually a human there to sign for it. Sometimes the delivery staff will sign it themselves - this may not be considered POD by a small claims court. With SD they put all the barcode stickers on a form and the PO Box owner has to sign it before release of mail.
My brother is a manager for RM in Rugby. Always advised me that RD is a waste of money and to use SD if its important. RD is basically just the normal post and postman can get a neighbour or anyone else to sign for a delivery, sometimes they sign it themselves or sometimes don't bother at all. Failure to get proper record of delivery is one of the most common complaints to Postwatch. SD is handled seperately and securely and there are much tighter regulations on POD. If £100's are at stake then use SD..

I do see. I also see why you got into difficulties.
oh really then why did i get into difficulties? tell me how m2yd not sending forms on time is my fault. why don't you say anything constructive instead of vague snipes?

lets see: i trawled the web to find all the info i could. it was less than a week of research but years worth of information that other people had done. i made sure i had all the info and knew what i was getting into. i copied the t and c's and was sure to follow them exactly. i made a note of the right date for the form and made sure i followed all the precautions until then. when the date was up and the form hadn't arrived i emailed them. they responded with a copied-and-pasted reply which said to wait and the form would come later from the automated process. i waited a couple of weeks and then emailed again. the same copied-and-pasted response was received. i then sent an email where i made sure they knew i didn't accept the automatic process was working. a form was then sent a few days later. i filled the form in exactly as specified and sent a copy of my bills. the most recent and the previous showing 6 months connection (just in case). the form was sent via recorded delivery as only the paper not the potential of cashback is covered by the insurance (as told to me directly from royal mail themselves). the form was sent and received with a signature obtained to prove it. despite this no cheque was received so i emailed them again. the only response was a copied and pasted reply to call the number. this time i emailed with a cc'ed one to the ceo of phones4u. the next day i got a phone call that they'd never received the form but they'd pay me the cashback out of goodwill.

so at what point were the problems due to me? if you're going to keep criticising then how about you say why.

I presume you mean special delivery - recorded doesn't offer more than the intrinsic value of the contents. Why go through all that? Simply issue a LBA then sue. Even then why complain; you got everything free with minore inconvenience. If you find it that difficult why do it in the first place? I won't snipe at people who don't use capital letters at the start of their sentences despite their degree.

no, i mean recorded because that's what royal mail advised. the potential of cashback is not covered special delivery or not. my first message on this forum was a description of my experience, the second was after mobiles2yourdoor had replied and sorted the problem out (or more specially a higher-up from phones4u did). then it was posted to warn others and to advise them that the automated system and customer services are rubbish. it also shows that it can get sorted without the cost of an LBA and the hassle of sueing them. the only difficulties that occurred we're from mobiles2yourdoor which should not have happened. i have no problems with saving bills and following redemption dates etc. no difficulties at all until they messed up.

i notice you still don't have any actual things i didn't do correctly instead you now focus on grammar. i tend not to use capital letters because i speed type at times leaving Word to fix spelling/grammar for me. not that you're one to judge in this instance either as 'minore' is spelt 'minor' is it not?

Bought clearance phone 15 months free / 18 mt contract from M2YD two weeks ago. After reading the problems on here about getting claim forms, I emailed to enquire and they sent my first claim form immediately! It's not due until Feb 2009!

It feels better knowing that I have it and I recommend all new purchasers email and request theirs.

    regards
