It's pretty easy (don't know where the "post count" came from!). You had all the proof you needed to sue, so should that be necessary there is NO problem. How can you follow groundrules you don't know about? I have been warning people for well over a year about cashback deals and took the time and trouble to set out a lot of vital information:-

As for days of research; I researched every day for a year before getting any such (obviously dodgy) deal. Now I must have had well over 50 for myself and others with only minor problems.

The bottom line is always commence by covering yourself completely so you are in a position to enforce payments through the courts. If you do that properly you will get your money provided the dealer is still around to pay up. That is MY warning to others.

I am looking at a cashback deal with MTYD and am coming to the end of a similar deal with phones4u which has been fairly painless. Both contracts are with Vodaphone. can I switch my number without jeapordising either of my cashback claims? If so, how do i go about it, particularly with regards to timings. I am hoping to get the new phone activated a few days before my P4U contract expires. Thanks in anticipation of your help.

There's one thing you're right about; you shouldn't be doing ANY cashback deals, since you have a huge margin of error on this one and yet didn't follow the basic groundrules. People who do should be able to extract all their cashback with little risk - though naturally most DON'T follow them!

Not sure why you have to adopt such a 'superior' attitude to so many posters. Telling this poster that he 'shouldn't be doing ANY cashback deals' is well out of order. Seems to me like he did everything a reasonable person should and did follow the rules.
Very often (as in my case with e2s) the customer follows the rules but the supplier does not.

Little 'heads up' on some of the phones4u adverstising.

I was looking at their Nokia 6300 with "11 months free line rental" on a 12 month contract. "11 months free" is stated bold and clear a couple of times, UNTIL you come to do the check-out and then in much smaller font it states '9 months free line rental' (£360 back by redemption). On the M2YD website the Samsung U600i with '11 months free line rental' (stated twice) is actually 10 months free when you go to buy it.

Not sure of the legal issues here - but something to be aware of - excitable buyers might click through without realising.

I also note that on the Mobiles2yourdoor website the offers under the "12 months free" tab not what you would expect (i.e. no 12 months free line rental offers!).

EDIT: I e-mailed them earlier today about the above advertising issues and to their credit they replied and have now altered their web pages.

Hi, I took a 12 months free, 12 month contract with MTYD and I have now passed the 6 month period for my first cashback. I have not received the cashback redemption form automatically (as they state on their website). Two weeks ago I emailed them and they said they would send one and I should receive it within 7-10 days. Low and behold - nothing! I have just emailed them again, and they have replied to say they will send out a form and I should receive within 28 days!!! That is leaving it extremely tight, if not impossible to return within the 60 days. I notice from previous posts that other people have had the same problem - what can I do about it?

I'm thinking of ordering a Nokia 6300 on a Vodaphone 12 month cash back contract from MTYD. However, i already have a cash back contract with Phones 4u which comes to an end on the 18 June 08. I was wondering if i apply for one now will they reject my app because of the existing contract?

Does any know if you can port a number from an orange PAYG to the Vodaphone 12 month cash back contract from MTYD?

First question; no. Second - I'll let someone else answer that one since I never port a number.

No, M2YD can't port any number to Vodaphone - it's on the website during the purchase process and in the FAQ, I think.

    cheers

I've orderedand received an LG Prada clearance. My only worry about the phone is the sticker inside the phone with the imei number on. It has been peeled back and replaced. This may make it look like it has been changed. I was intending to sell on Ebay.

The other problem is that it is a £40 a month cashback deal but vodafone have sent me through some of their promotional/welcome stuff saying its £39.99. Will this be a problem?

    Regards
