I posted here about the latest trick of Mobiles2yourdoor in deliberately delivering your contract with a number they know to be already allocated to another subscriber.

Just an update on this, I complained to Vodafone, the network provider in this case. They contacted M2YD and stated that they apologised for their error and the inconvenience caused, had promised to deliver the Nintendo Wii within a further 28 days maximum. Well, of course it still did not arrive, so I have decided on a new tactic here. Since the only contract which I had with Vodafone was the one prepared by and delivered to me by their distributor, I realised that despite their protests of innocence Vodafone had not delivered that contract which I had entered into and thus were in default of contract. I have therefore informed them that I intend to hold them in default and return the phone to their distributor. They of course in the standard fashion then stated that I would have to pay the full amount of the contract as a penalty. I responded by asking them to send me a copy of any contract which they believed was still in force before I decided what action to take. Of course they have not been able to do this since the original contract which I entered into was on the number which they could not deliver. I have since not entered into any new contract with Vodafone. They are thus in default which is what has led to all of these problems.

I do not believe that legally therefore they can hold me to any contract which they defaulted on? I am awaiting their response.

I called them today to chase up on my order which should be been with me yesterday, they claim to be having "I.T. problems" and couldn't tell me whether my order had even been processed. I then requested that the order be cancelled and they claimed to not to be able to do so
  • They have to be able to cancel it - you could do that within at least the first 7 days of receiving the phone anyway! Maybe if you put it in writing, cancelled any direct debit they've set up and refuse to accept receipt of the parcel they'd get the message? Though 12 month free deals are very thin on the ground now and THAT one only lasted a few hours overnight; are you sure you want to cancel?
  • I was going to cancel and re-order via Quidco, I didn't realise that the 12 months offers had finished.
  • Post 176. There are still 2 but not on great phones like the SE's.

All my contracts have been off the internet im afraid, do you think it would be worth having a look round the shops for a decent deal on an n95?

i always presumed the cheapest contratcs were on the internet

Doubt you'll find a cheaper deal than online unless it is a one-off. Went to scout out the shops in town doing cashback. Some of the guys told me to avoid them as they mess customers about, but one shop which had >10 branches has offered me 2 contracts 12 months free (with oldish mobile phones) and all the cashback will be paid when I go to show them my first month bill but with post dated cheques which I can only cash after 4, 8 and 12 months (like the online schemes). Seems like a similar business model to a company called forward cellular although you got all your cashback in one cheque with forward cellular. I am sure some of us will remember it for good and bad reasons. Am seriously tempted............

Hi, I am looking for a 12 months contract on Orange. MY2D used to do them till last week but now when I am about to order, I can't find one with them or with others... The only ones I can find are Vodafone or O2 at the moment with crappy old handsets..

Does anyone know about any 12 months free line rental deal with Orange?

    Cheers..

Well my phones arrived today, the paperwork (what there is) seems to be in order, have to wait (upto) 48 hours for connection to the network mind.
