Mine is slightly out on figures cause I estimate school holidays but children didn't go for two weeks and another time I used a different one as the other was full!
So I've sent what I've got and shown how I estimate and why my figures are slightly out. Few years ago I had the same with the tax compliance I was made to pay it back 25% of my award for 12 months
They are no doubt random but within the high risk category.0 -
I renewed my tax credits 15th may . Normally this is done and they can tell you your new payment schedule within couple days . I rang today to give my daughters course for next year as she's going to college and they needed to know this and was told my renewal not done will take up to 10 weeks ?? Why is this ?0

If you are being told 10 weeks you are being checked.
They may do their own investigation but they may also write to you to find out more info.0 -
Yeah first they said 8 weeks then 10 weeks0

Plus what can they check ? I do have child care but they can access Ya p60 now 0

Bobbie123,
They can't check your childcare fees by looking at your P60.
They can check anything but this year it seems childcare is the trend.0 -
I was first told 8 weeks then 10 weeks.
My letter came last week dates 20th April.
They could want to check your child care0 -
A good idea would be to obtain invoices for childcare ready. I had to provide 12 months bank statements but he did say you can provide a print out from the nursery with payments and invoices on.0

GG,
When you had your overpayment, what was the process? Did they inform you before they started deductions?0 -
Hi,
2 years ago I went through compliance, I was in constant touch with my own compliance officer who I dealt with over the phone she told me there was an overpayment so I knew what to expect and she told me the way they deduct and rates they can.
Then few days later I rang the normal helpline who confirmed my new payments and what my overpayments each month were. Then my award followed couple weeks later.
This year its going through concentrix so I don't know if they act the same.
I know I will have small overpayment so I am again going to keep in constant touch with them. Although they don't seem to give much out over the phone! I will keep ringing.0
