Court claim by VCS for JLA airport

Has anyone else here been sued by VCS for stopping on a road at Liverpool airport?

My wife has a case coming up in court in a few weeks time for which we have prepared a defence and have now received a massive bundle from VCS, from what I had searched previously i had struggled to see another case at this airport.

there have not been VCS airport small claims court cases ..........

there have been a multitude of PCN's though .... do a search of JLA and you will find dozens ....

this will be of interest to many forum member and you are about to get ask lots of questions ......
without posting personal details can you post up a time line and what you and they sent in any appeals

Oh we never appealed, we just ignored until we received an actual court claim.

They must have spent around £6.00 in postage, sending a very neat folder of evidence to us as part of their claim.

No we just ignored VCS until we received the court claim, i would say we were pretty well prepared in the sense we have compiled a fairly decent defence.

Having read round this kind of claim seems pretty rare.

Sadly VCS have been waiting for some one like you .....

they want to try and get some sort of court case that they can then refer to for all the multitude of scam PCN's that they send out at airports round the country.

Are they claiming Protection Of Freedoms act 2013 and keeper liability.

Did they claim it was a contractual charge? If so, did they account for v.a.t.? If not, why not?

If the PPC are claiming that the funny money they want is a contractually agreed charge, they should, if they have a turnover of £75,000, account for vat. Further reading here.

Also write a brief statement outlining what they claim causes them a loss.
Such as they claim that when a car enters the Airport road system they claim that if that car stops at all, even for a half a second, the driver of that car owes the £xxx and thus must cause them to lose £xxx for each car stopping.
Compare it to charging people for stepping on cracks in a pavement.
Make sure the Judge knows what the actual business plan is.

They did mention keeper liability in the claim yes

Not that i can remember. From what they have sent us, i have a lot of reading to do, will have to read their document fully as there are a lot of pages
