    My first post!

I have just been on the phone to e2save as I have fallen into the same trap, albeit for a 12 month contract. My email said to send in the 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th bills. I received the phone in Feb, but did not get a bill til March. So according to me, I should send in my Aug bill, but they say July.

HOWEVER - the guy I spoke to today said I had 45 days to send in my July bill - not 30 - and so, according to him I should still be okay. Part of me suspects that he may just be saying this to avoid a confrontation on the phone tho'.

Will send it off today and will keep you posted.

One thing that may help anyone in the future: if you actually fill in the 'cheque back' calendar they send you, month 1 states 'month of purchase' so you actually arrive at the bills that they expect you to send. I know this works as I did it for my husband who is useless at remembering things and he has had no problem. However I didn't fill it I am better organised (!?) and can remember things, so just committed 'August' to memory. Perhaps there is a lesson for me there!

I just called back again, as I really didn't trust the information I had been given - I'd also been given a new address in Crewe to send it to, but could find no record of it on the website.

I have now been told it is only 30 days, but that they would expect my first bill to have been March so it is entirely correct to send in my August bill. i.e. totally contradicting my earlier call.

The address in Crewe, however is correct and it's only just changed, so not updated on the website yet.
  • ELEANOR/SOMEONE PLS HELP. This is my 1st post.

I too did the same as most people on the 6m Virgin package: signed up end of April; received 1st bill approx 2 weeks later, dated 8th May; 2nd bill dated 8th June; 3rd bill dated 8th July; I read the t's & c's carefully (so I thought) and so understood that the ''3rd month bill'' would be that dated 8th July, so sent this recorded deliverly.

I had 2x12month contracts with E2Save which ended 1 yr ago, and never had a problem with redemption. Hence why I got this 6month contract in April. Perhaps they've changed their redemption procedures!? Or their wording is v.unclear? Or they've made a huge mistake?

I read ALL the posts through Martins MSE thread & am very concerned. I received a confirmation text 2-3 weeks ago, but have not as of yet received a rejection letter - though assume I should expect one!? From what I understand, E2Save are honouring the 1st cashback due to their unclear/confusing info on redemption for the 6month contract from their part?! Is this true? (I hope so! As it would oterwise be unfair!) Any advice on how to go about this?(ring their customer service no.?)

Can I please request ELEANOR to contact me & look in to my case. Thank you!!

I understood many of the cash back offers scam their way out of paying up, I was looking into using a company that should be better than the others, but when they are clearly misleading customers by asking for the 3rd and 6th bill yet actually wriggle out by stating really they wanted 2nd and 5th bills, no wonder they are called e2Scam.

Another scamming company to avoid I see.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • had contract 2 years ago , but silmilar problem sent 1st and 3rd by recorded delivery and got cashback , but 2nd by normal post and no cashback used every excuse , so in process of small claims court but told to report problem to oftel as they can normally sort out disputes , if everyone done this could get results
  • I too entered into this 6 month Virgin SIM offer. In fact my wife and I took one each. I ordered them both on 29 April, both arrived.

I sent 3rd bill (dated 02 July) recorded delivery for both phones on 10 July and received a text confirming receipt of each. I recieved a text saying my CashBack had been successful and would receive cheque within 30 days. My wife got letter dated 25 July saying that her CashBack claim had been rejected as it was received too late.

She contacted CashBack helpline (15 min wait) and spoke to an advisor who said "there appeared to have been a mistake, send another copy of the bill directly to me and I will sort it". Another copy was sent recorded del 30 July.

    Still no word.

I can't help thinking that, Martin recommended this offer and now that it is proving to be a problematic he should put his weight behind sorting it out.

It appears that the e2save rep is not having much effect.

  • I also got the Virgin sim only 6month cashback offer. I sent in my 3rd bill has requested. I got the text message saying they had received my claim and would text me to confirm approval. Then I read the problem on Martins website. I telephoned there customer services on 08456551246 the call lasted 5mins and cost 21p on my Tesco internet phone. I spoke to someone who told me I had been wrongly sent a letter of rejection (which I have still not received) she said this was because of the postal strikes. She suggested I fax a copy of my bill, and I sugested e-mail. She gave me an e-mail address to send my bill to. I asked if the bill I had sent before was the one they wanted and she replied yes. I then sent my bill via e-mail only to have it returned undelivered, because the e-mail address did not exist. I have sent an e-mail to their customer service via martins website.

  • I submitted my first 3 bills via recorded post within days of receiving my 3rd (July) bill from Virgin.

Initially I was texted a message confirming receipt of my claim, and then more than 2 weeks later I had a letter saying I was outside of the claim period.

Customer services told me they had only received the June statement and nothing more, although I know this was not the case, and as such my claim sent in July was too late. When I explained I had sent in all 3 months they told me only June was received and now it was too late to contest it as the 30day claim date has passed!!!!

It seems as though they'll say anything to not pay out.
