Virgin sim only 6 month cashback offer. Having problems?

my unique order number was 66093623 dated 26th Aprl 2007
I received my Sim card with slight delay wit a letter dated 8th May 2007, and even more hassles trying to get phone to accept the Vigin card even using the PAC code supplied in this letter.
I obtained a Nokia code from a colleague two days later which sorted out the problem and the service started up ok
I have received the bills from Virgin but the the service provider is T Mobile
I get texts from O2 telling me all sorts of what to do abroad with my phone??
I get texts from T Mobile or Vigin every month telling me I have now 300 minutes calls plus 100 texts
I sent my claim by registered post on the 10th July.
I even got a text back prior to this saying my claim was okay for the cash back and expect payment inside 30 days?
Now I have a letter from E2Save telling me that my bill is out of date as I sent them the bill for July.
Like others I felt this has been usual rip off as now I am being charged for each and every text I send here in Uk.
I would like to get some response from E2 Saveother than call them on their wonderfull money grabbing call line.
many thanks

Sorry but this is my second post on this subject as I have had a few thoughts :
As e2save are selling sim cards on behalf of the mobile phone companies aren't we all protected by the rights set out by ofcom or OTELO . Surely Virgin Mobile should see this is causing them some damage and should stop the issuing of sim cards to such companies . We alll have started a contract via e2save , this doesn't mean we should loose our rights as consumers.

or OTELO :

I'm waiting at the moment for another cheque back after sending all my bills, and all pages by recorded delivery , however my problem was they initially sent out the wrong sim card upsetting the timing of my cash back . If they refuse to honour this one I shall cancel my services with Virgin and any outstanding charges as a result ( the rest of the annual term ) I shall put in a claim against e2save either through one of the above if not the small claims court.
Companies causing disruption like this should be investigated.0 -
T-Mobile did a while back clamp down on these because of numerous problems, maybe Virgin should too.
The problem with cancelling before the contract is up is Virgin will chase you for the fees, each month you'll have a non-payment mark put on your credit file and it can cause problems later on.
Mobile companies should definitely clamp down on them, as they all try and scam their way out of paying up, they need to not pay up on a fair amount of claims otherwise they'd be soon out of business. It's the retailers using their kickbacks to use as cash-backs, and nothing to do with the mobile operator, these companies work on the basis they can throw out a percentage of claims to ensure they don't end up paying out more than they earned from the kickbacks. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
I had the same problem recently with e2save, although my contract was with Orange, not Virgin.
I received my first cashback without any problems but when I sent my second cashback form and 8th Orange bill to e2save, via recorded delivery as they request, I didn't receive a text saying that they had the bill etc, so checked with Royal Mail that it had been sent. Lo and behold Royal Mail had lost the letter, so I rang e2save to explain the problem and find out if I had time to get another copy of the bill from Orange to send to them again. It was then that I was told that I had sent the wrong bill for my first cashback, it should have been the bill for the 4th month I had the phone, not the 4th bill I received. But e2save had kindly let me off that month and refunded the money for some reason, however they didn't let me know of my mistake. This meant that my second cashback was far too out of date for me to do anything about my second refund.
I was very upset about having missed out on my cashback of £75 when I had thought I had sent my correct bills promptly to e2save, but worse than that I was made to feel I had made a really stupid mistake by not understanding that it isn't actually your 4th bill you need to send but the bill for the 4th month you have the phone. The person who answered my call was extremely patronising and suggested that I should have read the information on the website, which was very clear, and not the information e2save sent to me when I received my phone from them. I was very relieved to read that other people had understood the cashback system in the same way I had and, therefore, I am not the complete moron I was made to feel I was.
I have recommended e2save to people before, as they have some great offers, but this episode made me question the trust I had put in the company.0 -
I sent my 3rd paper bill in by recorded post, but I haven't heard a sausage from e2save. Have to say, this is unusual, as I've brought several phone deals off them and they've all been good in the past.
Can you please contact me to let me know what went wrong in this instance, as I've been a consistent customer of yours in the past (and currently have two other phone deals with you at present).0 -
Hi sorry for the delay in replying, I hope my answers still help someone.
I rang the 0845 number quoted in a post above.
I know it was a lady i spoke to but i can't remember her name!
The date on sim order was 29th April
First bill was may 7th so i sent july 7th bill. I get online bills so just printed out 3rd bill.
October bill will be the 6th bill.
She said it was their mistake and even apologised!
I'm still not convinced the cheque will arrive though.
I hope everyone else gets the same response and it is going to be this easy!Hi Nellie
Few questions :
* Which number did you call to speak to them
* What was the name of the person you spoke to
* What was the date and month that you started the contract
* Would your October bill have been the 5th or the 6th you receive
Hope you cam answer the above as it will help many people here...

My first post, so apologies if I get anything wrong.
I seem to be one of the few people who HAS received a cheque from e2save, so don't give up hope!
My query is this - I looked at the conditions and it says that they won't pay cashback if your airtime contract has been disconnected. Does this mean that if I wanted to cancel the contract with Virgin after the 6 months is up (giving 28 days notice in advance so that I don't have to pay another month's £15), I won't get the cashback for the previous 3 months?0 -
I took out this deal in December of last year and took the required documentation to Carphone Warehouse at the end of April when I was due a refund.
I received my cheque last week, just as it is time to submit my second lot of documentation for another refund. I guess i wont be banking on the money for a few months.:mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I got 2 phones from e2save, one for me one for my hubby, both on the cashback deal, e2save got the 2 accounts mixed up and i only ever was able to make 2 claims on my phone and one on my hubbies (or the other way round they confused me that much I havent got a cue any more), after all the hassle I gave up alltogeather as customer services didnt have a clue and couldnt seem to grasp the fact that there were 2 phones registered to my house and the fact that our first initial and surname was the same made it even more difficult for them, I was told to submit all details to prove I was telling 'the truth' (surely its not my place to sort out their customer services errors) I was told they had inputted something into their computer incorrectly ie, registered my phone on my husbands details and his on mine, so when i sent in my claims the computer was showing as already paid it, I had an absolute nightmare with them and would NEVER recomend them to anybody, I am annoyed that they got away with ripping me off but they basically backed me into a corner, because every time I spoke to an agent they all said different things, I even got told on one occasion that my hubbys phone was pay as you go!!! their customer services is a shambles  they must have made hundreds from my 2 accounts!! there is so much more I could go on and on but I just dont want to get myself all worked up about it again. sorry for going hopefully somebody will contact me from e2save and this time know what they are talking about! :T regards, catherine, ps has anybody actually been able to get their money back? P.S my contract with e2save has now ended and I have got rid of them and gone direct with virgin will I still be able to claim? xxxxStopped smoking 15.10.07 saved £68.60 :T

Just phoned the 0845 number and a nice lady told me I'ts all a mistake caused by the 6 month cash back offer period. The deals are usually 12 or 18 months and there system is having trouble handling the 6 month ones. That's her story not mine. The good news is my money should be with me in 15-21 days. I feel a little guilty for posting, but only a little !0
