Interesting that Martins Blog Appearances has been hit ...it seems to be deliberate as others all around it are untouched.
I wonder at what point MSE are going to understand they need to remove posting rights of newbies before the first post is approved ?It's not just about the money0 -

Hi everyone!
I've posted on this thread
To answer the question of moderating first posts we can't do that for a few reasons
a) For legal reasons we don't moderate
b) Over 300 people join the forum every day
c) We encourage newbies to join and join in saving money straight away eg in Forum giveaways, debt-free challenges etc.
Thanks for the suggestions though, we are reading and noting them!Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Lots of forums use the system of first posts having to be approved.
Posting on a forum is a privilege not a legal right isn't it ?MSE_Andrea wrote: »b) Over 300 people join the forum every day
Even if it was 300 posts per day it only takes a few seconds glance to see if it was spamMSE_Andrea wrote: »c) We encourage newbies to join and join in saving money straight away eg in Forum giveaways, debt-free challenges etc.
I can't see a spam ridden forum being an incentive to attract new members and it certainly drives away regular members. It's not just about the money0 -

Do you mean 300 people?
Or simply 300 usernames - some of them generated automatically prior to spamming?0 -

Good to see that you are on top of the problem and doing something about it by taking notes.
I have known factory managers getting the sack for that much effort.0
