How many times does a post have to be reported as spam before it is removed, I see some which have 20+ views, I'm guessing everyone presses spam whilst they're viewing it so why aren't they removed?

Crazy amount this morning....first 10 pages of the Credit Card forum all Spam!!! Doesn't pay to be an early bird on here..

How ironic that the forum feedback area is also now being bombarded with Spam.

Something needs to be done, even if its only temporary. You are scaring a lot of newbies off. First thing in the morning the whole forum looks like its been abandoned to spammers.

Please at least apply some posting restrictions until you get something more permanent in place.

I just clicked "New Posts", and all but 5 of the 1st page were spam.

Each time I go back to the main forum index I'm spotting new spammer names risen to the top.

I can see there is a positive blitzkrieg going on by these characters at the moment.

I've just cleared Loans (8 pages!), Cutting Tax and Grabbit boards of the spam posts but I'm not reporting any more today because MSE need to wake up and see the problem at first hand or this ridiculous situation, left to continue, will kill off the forum in short order I'm sure.

i was reporting them as fast as they were posting them at 3am this morning.

I gave up because my browser kept freezing but i think i'd reported most of them.

It seems like you guys need a better spam protection for your VBB? Either that or someone who knows how to work with a database I'll offer my services if you're hiring :P

I'm getting really fed-up of it. I often log-on overnight but the forum is heading for being unusable. I'm sure all of these suggestions have been made before, but here are some from me:-

1. Ban all posts with (chinese?) characters.
2. Reduce the number of spam reports needed to remove a post
3. Restrict new members - one post every 20 minutes?
4. If someone has 3+ posts removed as spam - remove all their posts.
