Spambots

seems to be getting worse everyday, i spend the first 10 mins after logging on reporting spam, but nothing seems to happen to it for a long time.

You are doing an ostrich - putting your head in the sand. The lack of action by MSE TOWERS is a barrier to those seeking help on the Debt Free and other boards.

It may have already been suggested but would it be feasible to put captcha in place for the first 10 posts?

I agree MSE just doesn't get it. Its more about making money than actually providing help/support now. I am fed up of seeing spam all over place its bad enough putting up with normal spam but these bots have ruined this forum now.

These forums are sinking faster than the Titanic and the Captain left long ago

It was bad enough when the spam was limited to 'out of hours', but now it's all day.

I've spent the last half hour reporting spam, and still it's pouring in.

It's ludicrous now.

I think MSE needs to stop new registrations forthwith, until they work out how they can stop this tide of rubbish

So what if the stoppage of new registrations infringes the spammers human rights and a couple of newbies can't start 'saving money straightaway'.

Surely drastic action is now required?

of which 299 of them are most likely to be a spammer

ETA - point 3. Newbies are unlikely to want to join the forum when all they are faced with is pages and pages of spam. On the loans board it was an entire page of it..
