Have a look through some books online - my fella likes Hugh fernley whats his face - make sure the trees are all being identified correctly to keep yourslef safe.
as far as i know there is only one type of rowan tree - have a google and read through this. there are in fact many - but they all seem to be edible but taste very bitter...
The rowan jelly was made by my fella and has an acquired taste...

crab apples can be juiced and made into jelly too... My partner makes it into seabuckthorn and crab apple jelly - something that i personally would rather cut my own arm off than eat (sea buckthorn is the devils seaman - it hurts to pick it off bushes with 3 inch thorns that jam under your fingernails and don't come out for weeks)...
they can be made into many nice things though...

I made some plum jam (16 jars)
We have picked more plums and more apples as well as some damsons.
My mum has sent round loads of blackcurrants and a few red currents - so sorting those out will be fun...
I have paid for the sewing course - but it will be a way for me to use up all of my fabric etc...

Well the course was a wash out... So no finished crafting items finished this weekend...
I left half way through today- had no working pattern and no fitting bodice - decided there was no point adding a skirt to a badly fitting bodice - may as well save the fabric...
Got a refund for today - still miffed that I wasted most of my weekend...
Quite angry really - there were just too many people needing the tutor (the class should have been a bit smaller). I was so far behind as there had been fitting issues with my bust darts yesterday afternoon (as well as issues with me wanting a sleeve - that couldn't be added due to the bust darts) - got miffed when i redid them 3 times today back and forward in two different positions - it wasn't working in either...
Hey ho.
Have now realized that I can manage a good enough fit (or as good as the supposed made to measure pattern that was drawn for me) with a standard pattern.

Hi all,
I'm so sorry for my long absence. Things have been manic here recently and I had a health scare that knocked me for six for a bit and so couldn't concentrate on anything really but luckily everything has turned out to be ok so I'm back and ready to stash bust like never before
I do have to report that I bought a few bits whilst I was out in America. Oh and I also treated myself to a pair of pinking shears on Sunday from Hobbycraft (only £5). I've already used them to make some bunting for my Auntie for Christmas so I think I can justify them.
Other good news is that I had a craft fair stall at a local farmers market last Saturday and made £52 after stall costs. I also have a lady coming tonight to collect 34 sheets of toppers which I sold on Facebook so will be adding them towards my total when they have left the building
I am also declaring 9 prayer boxes/wish boxes, 6 snowmen mints and 2 memo boards since checking in last so am adding a further 17 items to my total. I'm sure 've made some more bits so will have a think and hopefully report back later with more
In the meantime its great to see you were all stash busting in my absence. Keep up the good work
I've set myself a target to make at least one handmade gift for each person I buy gifts for this Christmas using only my stash so that should help to tame it again
Tomorrow I am starting to tidy and organise my craft room again so I can clearly see what I have.
Wish me luck

Knew I'd made more things. I'm declaring:-
1 x Wooden tag for Auntie for Christmas
1 x String of Bunting for Auntie for Christmas
2 x Magnets (just added magnets to back of chipboard shapes)
4 x Tissue packs (just wrapped some coloured card around packet tissues and added some raffia and a greeting but I'm counting them as they used a tiny bit of stash)
3 x Wooden Beach Hut Post It Holders
6 x Felt Decorations
6 x Fairy Bottles
18 x Wish bracelets (made simply using some wax cord and some beads and presented on display cards)
16 x Coasters (sold 8 of these at craft fair)
So a further 57 towards my total and hopefully tomorrow I can declare another34 after the toppers have been collectedMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Well done, and good luck with tidying the craft space!!!!
I am pottering along, making cards, sewing little things, and generally prettying up from my stash0 -
Hello stashbusters
Well I am declaring 34 items destashed after the lady to collect the toppers last night
I am also declaring 3 cards towards the made total as the kids and I have each made a card for my mum's birthday. We used topper sheets and I was determined (and successful) that I would not print anything out for any of them thus using a bit more stash
Hope you are all happily craftingMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
