Hi crafters,

Welcome to the new 2015 stash busters thread.

You can find the 2014 thread here:- https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4824211

Well done to all the crafters who took part in 2014. Everyone was amazing and the thread helped so many people that hopefully 2015 can be the same.

For those of you who are new here are a quick recap of the (very loose) rules:-

The rules of the challenge are simple.

You can make anything you like but everything you make must be made using items from your current stash.

You are allowed to print things from cds etc and print any photos etc which may be needed for scrapbooking pages but you must not buy any new stash until your target has been met.

However this challenge is just for fun so if you do sin (and I'm sure there will be many - with me at the top of the list!!) then post for forgiveness and keep creating and having fun xxx

So who's with me this year? Tell me your target and you'll be added to the list :) Old and new members are welcomed alike :)

I'm also running a Pinterest challenge this year as well (I have such a bad addiction!!!) so you are all more than welcome to join me on this challenge too. It can be found here :-

  • Thanks for reserving me a space in this year's challenge.

I'm aiming for 500 items again (I make a lot of cards!), and will also make a determined effort to use more from the yarn/fabric [STRIKE]stash[/STRIKE] mountain this time.

Wishing you all "Happy Crafting" for 2015.

Could I please join in - I have fabrics, patterns, yarns, cross stitch and embroidery stuff filling my spare room to the rafters.

I do quite a bit of crafting for charity and community groups, but would like to get back to making my own clothes this year, as I am losing weight.

Starting on the 5th January, I would like to complete 2 projects each week. Some will be started already, some will be small, but some will be more complex, dependant on the time I have.

I will declare a total of 100 items to complete in 2015 and I will only buy materials I need to complete them (if I can't swap with friends)

I am doing a major work this year with a local childrens' group, so this will take time too - looks like my TV habit will have to go - yippee.

    Tenth Anniversary
Hi everyone, I did this challenge early last year with a low target so I would not fail! Would love to join again this year please. Will double my target to 104 ie. 2 a week for a start .

Even while I didn't have time to craft I did still read the thread to catch up on how everyone else was getting along. You are all such a talented bunch well done for sticking at it.

Although I came to a standstill and then bought a felting machine I have used it but dd has had great fun with it and we went to a class together and made some lovely felt pictures.

Apart from that have stayed on track and not bought any craft magazines and gifted loads of craft stuff to a friend who was going to a Romanian orphanage for Christmas. She was thrilled with all the craft stuff for the children. My poor hubby cut out 150 sets of felt Christmas trees on big shot for one of their projects as my arthritic hands could never have done it.
Happy new de stashing year. Cc

    I'm in! I'll aim for 100 :)
Today I have made a card and used my new ebosser to bust my scraps stash while subsequently boosting my die cuts stash......so only counting one. :)

Welcome catcherupper14. It's great to have you with us :)

I like the idea of swapping of items with friends instead of buying - brilliant and fantastic stash busting as I'm sure I'm not the only one who goes into a craft shop for one thing and comes out with much more :)

Can't wait to see your fabulous creations :)

Ooh a shiny new thread :)
Thanks for starting us off, and please put me down for 50 items de-stashed as I'm still a novice :rotfl:
    Looking forward to this!

Please put me down for 50 to start with. I made four cards yesterday (really simple ones for Christmas 2015!). I had loads of Forever Friends cardboard toppers so I sorted them all out and separated them from the rest of the Christmas toppers that I've got. I designed one card that I could make over and over again with slight variations and so I've actually made 12 cards since Christmas but only four yesterday!

I also listed three crafting CD Roms on flea bay as I will never used them but that doesn't count towards destashing does it?

    Good luck everyone x
