Please put me down for 50 to start with. I made four cards yesterday (really simple ones for Christmas 2015!). I had loads of Forever Friends cardboard toppers so I sorted them all out and separated them from the rest of the Christmas toppers that I've got. I designed one card that I could make over and over again with slight variations and so I've actually made 12 cards since Christmas but only four yesterday!

I also listed three crafting CD Roms on flea bay as I will never used them but that doesn't count towards destashing does it?

    Good luck everyone x

Great to have you with us again debrak1 :)

As for the Cd roms it is entirely up to you if you want to count them. I didnt count anything I sold/donated last year but this year I am. You choose :)

This is a great idea. I am guilty of buying new when i haven't used the old. I have so much wool sitting around waiting to be used and i got 6 more balls today! (on 3 for 2). And since i got into crocheting so much all my card and jewellery making stuff is sitting neglected. So i will do a mix of the three and get some of it used up!

I'll try for 50 pieces. Seems realistic enough.

Of course you can join - its great to have you on board with us :)

I think all us crafters are guilty of buying new before using the old. However I don't think I'll ever be able to use all the old as I just have soo much stash - hence this thread!!!

Can't wait to see your creations - you're like me - I try and do a bit of everything (except knitting I just can't do that - doesn't stop me buying wool though!!!!)

Please put me down for 50. I started this challenge late 2014 so am continuing with the 50 I put myself down for then. This means I start the year with 5/50 already done. Off now to crochet a dishcloth, from cotton I bought a couple of years ago while catching up on tv programmes recorded over Xmas.

    Hi all,

It's great to see that this year's thread is taking off well :)

I am pleased to be able to report a total of 12 items made. These were:-

My homemade Planner for the year (details and pics can be found on my blog)
6x Birthday Cards (for family members January birthdays
1x New Baby Card (I became an Auntie again on 23rd Dec)
4x Birthday cards made by my kids for their Nanny & Grandad's birthdays in Jan (made using my stash so they count towards my total :) )

Hope everyone is happily crafting :)

  • I'm a newbie to this thread but desperately need this idea, so could i join in please?

This is a brilliant idea. I am guilty of always buying new stuff when i have loads of stuff around me to use. I have so much yarn and keep buying more if it is on offer or I see a project I want to make, far faster than I can craft. Since I returned to crocheting I have been buying cards rather than using all my stash, I also have neglected cross stitch stuff and mosaics in boxes waiting to be done.

So this year I will not buy anymore and will get some stuff used up. Will aim initially for 50 items, and possibly reassess later if going well. Thanks x

Thanks for reserving me a space in this year's challenge.

I'm aiming for 500 items again (I make a lot of cards!), and will also make a determined effort to use more from the yarn/fabric [STRIKE]stash[/STRIKE] mountain this time.

Wishing you all "Happy Crafting" for 2015.

great to have on board again silverbird :)

  • designsbygemma.blogspot.co.uk It wouldn't let me put the link in fully because i'm new :(

One down and working on my next. Made this little guy this afternoon. He's not great, the pattern was very vague, so it took some improvising to get him done. Might make him a few friends in other colours.
