I have been crocheting in earnest over the last few weeks :D I have been working steadily through the Stylecraft DK yarn making a blanket which is taking FOREVER to make.

In the interim I used a very expensive and much loved skein of yarn to make a cowl for the winter. There is still some left however loads of it has been used.

Currently I am working my way through a pile of DK yarn by making a cowl and wrist warmers for the winter and one ball has gone already :D The cowl should use a good couple of balls too.:D

However………. I was given a whole pile of gorgeous crochet cotton in an array of colours as a gift and it would have been beyond rude to decline :o So I have been planning what I can do with it and one small project has left the hook and home already :D

Cowl and wrist warmers are finished and I used 2 1/2 balls for them :D Unfortunately OH doesn't like them so doubtful that I will keep them, Im not sold on them either however I hate parting with things I have made for myself :rotfl:

Now I need to think about what to make next…….

  • I really need a crafting journal type thing, so I can remember what I have made this year so far

3 - another ear snood for the dog - she seems to have 'lost' the other two I had...
4 - kumihimo bracelet in greys. Needs adjusting and charms adding...
5 - small peacock cross stitch picture
6 - biscuit cross stitch picture
7 - tattered fabric 'skirt' worn to a fairy festival
8 - finished off a pink and gold kumihimo cord I had forgotten about!

Used up some more cotton while making a pincushion. Not sure it is the prettiest thing I have ever made but it is another ball finished and it will be put to good use :D

    Hello there!

I'm new to this thread but had been working my way steadily through the 2014 before I realised there'd been a bright shiny one for 2015! I'm made on knitting, cross-stitching and card-making, and have acquired a few other crafty bits along the way. Having realised that I would never move on to de-stashing any other crafts until I finished all my wool, I have finally got to the point where there is not one scrap of wool in my house - probably the first time in over twenty years! Even the tiny oddments were used for multi-coloured blanket squares. So now I'm combining cross-stitch and card making for Christmas to use up some fabric and thread that was very kindly given to me a couple of years ago. I wanted to ask about targets - is it setting a target of how many items you de-stash, or how many items you make from your stash? Looking forward to downsizing my kit!

Welcome DuranGirl. Well done on the wool destashing!

With regard to targets, whatever suits you. I just chip in when I've made something.

I declare two more greetings cards from my stash.

Wow! after a quiet spell everyone is cracking on - crafting mad you are a machine! I got another couple of birthday cards done, but something tells me I'm going to miss my target, lol.

I have to confess, I was short on mojo so I pinched the ideas for the Hallowe'en cards from the internet.
