Please excuse my ignorance but what is a "Junk Journal" and "Signatures" ?

A junk journal is a hand made journal made with whatever paper you may have lying around. Some people choose to make them with beautiful printed papers and others wrappers - I tend to be half wAy between the two. I'll use up whatever paper I have and decorate with train tickets die cut up with magazine inserts decorating stuff too.

A signature is a collection of sheets of paper folded in half and then down the half way crease they are sewn in. I have used leather for the cover and each signature is a different colour of the rainbow.

I've done really well with this one - used up loads of bits that were lying around. I'll take pictures when I have totally completed it. And I'm not on my phone.

If you look on pintrest there are loads of images available.

I'm going to reassess on the train on the way to work tomorrow and set a bigger target for the year - but I'm going to add some challenging things in it too. I keep doing the little bits that just aren't making a dent in my stash.

May be a challenge to make 5 journals in a weekend or something.

Haven't been around or made anything for a while. Family problems going on. By brother, who is only 41 had a massive stroke a few weeks ago. He lives in Singapore, mum is with him out there now, so we have been trying to sort everything out back here with his work and care and everything else.

Sat down last night for the first time since it all happened and started crocheting. Before i knew it 5 hours had passed and i'd zoned out and crocheted on autopilot. Seem to be keeping me sane right now, so i'll be doing a lot more of it and getting back on track.

    Hi crazy-cat-lady,

Welcome back and I'm sorry to hear about your brother. My dad had a serious stroke at 49 which made him have to retire on medical grounds from work. I know from experience that its hard not just for them but all the family around them too :(
I also know what you mean about crafting keeping you sane. With everything going on in our lives at the moment it's certainly helping me - I just wish I had more time to do it :)

I hope your brother is on the mend soon xx

    Hey all

Many apologies for being AWOL since signing up In January :o Have just finished catching up on the thread and absolutely love all the makes and crafting that has been going on - well done all of you. Not had a great start to this year - but definitely nowhere near as bad as last year - no heart attack this year to excuse my absence just massive struggles with the "black dog". The last few weeks I have been busily de-cluttering in general and seem to be getting my mojo back and have:

All loose photos now in albums
    De-cluttered 50+ knitting magazines
3 x Scrabble frames (God parents)
    9 x Scrabble/Poker chip Frames (Vegas)
2 x Scrabble Frames for preschool leader
1 x Scrabble Frame (You, Me, Forever)
1 x Scrabble Frame (Love, You, Me)
    20 x Cards
    1 x 50 x 50cm Canvas (All You Need is Love)
    12 x Cards

    wip:
    2 x rag wreaths
2 x Craft boxes (1 for nieces and 1 for grand-kiddies - great for popping in the stash I will probably never use)

So I can confidently cross 50 items off my target, if you'll have me back. I promise to update more regularly.

Love and hugs to all that need them.

    C x

Night all, hope I haven't bored you all :o

Yeah ziggy - your back (would insert a jumping up and down smilie here but not working for some reason so you will have to imagine it).

Fantastic makes and I'm seriously impressed with your volume :)

nimbo, greentiger and anyone else I've missed - I love all your creations too :)

I am declaring a further 70 items towards my target as I have finally had collected the Kanban topper sheets I sold via Facebook :)
I know its cheating a bit but before stash busting I would have just held onto them in the hope that I may one day use them (obviously knowing that I probably never would!) :)

Thank you, and i'm so sorry about your Dad. I hope he is well now and made a good recovery. It's such a horrible situation, and i hate the feeling of being useless and not able to do anything to help.

I've somehow finished my christmas blanket, which i was stuck on for ages and seemed to be getting nowhere with and am about a 5th of the way into a summer blanket now. Seems blankets are my thing at the moment. I can zone out and carry on without thinking or worrying about too much of a pattern. Ideal.

Lots of creativity going on

I've crocheted 90 teeny granny squares in lace yarn, I am going to join them together to make a scarf. Will count it as one item once it's done, claiming 90 would be a bit cheeky of me lol!
