What happened to ur hubby victory, if you don't want to say don't worry.
Whatever it is, it is something beyond your control, and you are being brilliant, give your self a big pat on the back, take care xx

Was involved in a vehicle crash, bounced out and up into the air and down again by all account of his internal injuries, the consultant says it is like his organs have been put on a spin wash and now have to mend, stop swirling, go back to where they were and broken internal bones and bruising and disloging, difficulty breathing, stopped breathing twice, morfine, drips etc etc.

I know he is in the best place, there is no way I could do anything for him here so yes it is good to know he is well looked after, I am hoping he makes a bit more sense today and we can see him, off in a few mins, get on the road, see what the traffic is like but hopefully there for 2pm.

Had a phone call from one of OH friend just found out, shame, that is just the way it is, must have forgot, didn't really use the address book A-Z to get everyone informed.

Don't feel guilty about people you haven't known to inform - if he was in regular contact with your OH he would have been in touch anyway. Word will get around.

Thinking of you all the time , stay strong.

    OUCH!! poor guy :(

Sending him healing vibes, victory. And take care of yourselves, maybe take turns in visiting the hospital. You'll all be exhausted if you're driving for hours every day.

Oh, I thought that maybe what it was, poor poor man, He is starting to go the right way now in regards to getting better but it will be a long time coming. Please take care of yourself, he is really going to need you when he comes home, take what ever time you can to rest and eat, blow Christmas, that can be something to look forward to when this is all over xx

  • Its not the same at all but just read this and wanted tp offer some good thoughts for you at this time. Our dd1 was born 12 weeks premature 9 days before xmas. We had nothing in and no tree etc. We spent the day in neonatal intensive care unit with our girl. We had a bowl of soup for xmas dinner. It was a tough time but we did get through it. We made the best of it and for her 2nd xmas we really went all out. Much love x

I spent my daughters first Christmas in hospital, she had had a spinal fusion and multiple complications meant a month long stay from mid December to mid January.

We made the best of it, had a picnic in the ward on Xmas day and a proper Xmas day when we were home.

Hope you're taking care of yourself too Victory, don't forget you need time and food as much as everyone else does.

    Take care x

Just a thought that crossed my mind - would your inlaws prefer to book into a B&B nearer the hospital so they can pop in and out and see their son/your OH without all the travelling that's involved.

Also would that give you a breather at home too.

  • Glad you had a 'day off' Victory. Don't feel guilty at all. You are doing brilliantly, I can't imagine how difficult it must be trying to keep up with everything in 'normal' life with everything else that is going on. Keep strong hunny. x
  • Dearest Victory, thanks so much for taking up some of your precious time to post replies and updates. Bless you - you are showing more strength than I could muster in my little finger in this swirling, bubbling cauldron into which you have been thrust. I have said it before and I repeat it now: your family is SO lucky to have a good 'un like you at the helm. xx
Perhaps Eleanor Roosevelt was right - a woman IS like a tea-bag; you never do know how strong she is until you drop her in hot water...

Keep going Victory. It's hard, horrible and by no means over - but you are incredible. Still early days - but I know you will get through this.

Stay strong - we're with you ALL the way. xx
