Just a thought...
When I first requested my bank statements from NatWest they sent me loads of my SISTER'S bank statements.
Do you think it might be possible to kind of "threaten" to bring this breach of the Data Protection Act to light in court?
Of course, I have no way of proving it but I do have the bank statements still.0 -
I claimed from Natwest and had to go through MCOL. They ackowledged on the last day they were able to and then made me an offer. I have sent back my signed acceptance 25th July.
However today I received 2 letters. One from the court saying Natwest has entered a defence.
And a second letter (dated 31st July) from a solicitor for natwest with the same defence details.
What does this mean? I have already accepted their settlement figure, does this mean they are cancelling it? Can they do that?
I'm panicking now!

Do you reckon thats why put Mrs on your cheque?

I would assume that if they hadn't defended you could have requested judgement by default and they had become liable for the whole amount, whereas the offer they made you was for less than that? Think about it logically, they had to defend to avoid that and to gain time. That doesn't mean you won't get your settlement figure. It might be a good idea to ring the solicitors tomorrow.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

I have been ordered to provide a response to their request in accordance with CPR Part 18 by 14th August.
I need to provide in support of my claim:
- account number, sort code
- dates of charges, amounts and the reasons I was charged
- whether I think I shouldn't have been charged or I should have been charged less
- why I think they were an unfair penalty under the act
Please help! I need to type this today so I can keep the ball rolling.
Any tips on how to write it and what to write?
Who exactly is asking for this request as a previous post says the solicitor? If its the solicitor, you don't need to respond to the questions but just send a detailed list of your charges, if the request comes from the court then you need to answer.0 -

From the solicitor.
Yes, I've done this now. Just waiting for a response. :money:0 -
Hi to everyone!
I am wanting some advice regarding my reclaim of bank charges from the Natwest.
I started my claim back in May and got a sent the relevant letters and the last letter I received said it would take up to 6 weeks for them to get back to me due to the nature of my claim - what ever that meant!
6 weeks passed so I rang them on Wednesday 25th July and I was told that an offer letter had been generated for the full amount of £1457 on Monday 23rd July and I would receive it within a week - all I had to do was sign the letter accepting and send it back.
Then to my horor heard the news Friday 27th July and waited almost an hour on the phone to speak top someone who advised me that as my offer letter had already been generated I would still be receiving my letter and my money and not to worry. They said to give it another week and I should have my letter.
Then thinking about things on the Monday I decided to ring again - nothing is ever straight forward for me so I just wanted to double check if the letter had actually been posted yet as it was generated on the previous Monday. Again I was reassured that I would be receiving my letter and the lady I spoke to said they had to add an extra letter to my original offer letter stating the revised terms and conditions and that was what was causing the delay. She said to give it two weeks and ring back if I hadnt received anything.
So I waited a week and something was telling me to ring again - I just had a funny feeling we werent gertting this letter - so another 45 minute wait on the phone and I get through to a not so nice lady who sounded like she was reading a script. She had told me that my claim was frozen and it wouldnt be sorted until they had sorted things with the High Courts. So I asked why had I been told that an offer letter had been generated 2 weeks previously and why the following phone calls had all been the same that I was still getting my offer letter and wopuld definately still be getting the money owed. I was then told that an offer letter had never been generated and that I shouldnt have been told that one had and certainly shouldnt have been told I would still be getting my money inthe other phone calls. I asked to speak to a manager but she wouldnt let me and just kept giving me the same speech and said that talking to a manager wouldnt help as they would say the same thing. So I admitted defeat put the phone down and got very upset!! How can a letter have suddenly disappeared off their system!! It had been generated before the 27th July so I should have still received it!! Im just at a loss as to what to do next. Would I have a leg to stand on if I got legal advice or would I be wasting more money there as I had done on the lengthy phone calls!!
Can anyone give me any advice please!! Im not sure what to do next!!0
