I got a letter from the court today about an allocation question - but it had been crossed out!
I have been ordered to provide a response to their request in accordance with CPR Part 18 by 14th August.
I need to provide in support of my claim:
- account number, sort code
- dates of charges, amounts and the reasons I was charged
- whether I think I shouldn't have been charged or I should have been charged less
- why I think they were an unfair penalty under the act
Please help! I need to type this today so I can keep the ball rolling.
Any tips on how to write it and what to write?0 -
JB, if you are able to get to a local branch I would go in personally & tell them you want them to refund the charges as for 52p that is a joke. Take a cheque for a tenner & if they refuse to refund them tell them you want your statements for however long you think you have been charged.
Give us a shout if you need any help
Thanks for the PM Gareth, I rang one of the numbers you suggested and my account is now closed and all charges dropped.
I should recieve a letter by the end of the week informing me this has happened.
Its unbelievable anyone can charge £28 a month for a 52p overdraw account.Amounting to £192
NATWEST STINKS IMO.
JBWaddle you do eh?0 -

If the proceedings they are refering to is the OFT case that is not going to get into court until January/February of next year. So I would press ahead. As I am not the Pope or legally qualified I may be wrong so feel free to get a second opinion from a qualified person0 -
Hi
I have reclaimed bank charges before with no worries. I also stopped incurring them which was a healthy change. I got a couple the other month so decided to print off the letter (one i found on the net, very good, but not off MSE) that I had used before.
This time they have replied saying they are waiting for the outcome of a test case they have against the OFT. And as a result the FSA have allowed them to suspend the 'normal timetable for dealing with bank charges complaints' while the wait for the outcome.
Do I just have to wait, or shall I carry onto push it? Anyone else had this letter?0 -
Hi
Go to the natwest thread, lots of us have been through this, i actually got them to credit me within 2 days because i rang the chief exec office, all the numbers and details are on the natwest thread if you look a few pages back.
good luck
toni
Hi ToniqGlad you managed to get your money back ...congratulations!!During the phone call to the Chief Exec office, what exactly did they say if you don't mind me asking? I spoke to them today and felt a bit fobbed off - top and bottom of the conversation was - they told me that my case would be 'moved up the line' - I just wondered if I was being fobbed off, or whether I can start looking foward to a sizable bank credit in the very near future!! Offer was made on 18th July and accepted by return first class post and fax, then today's call to Chief Exec Office.0 -
Hi,
I sent the court letter away about a week ago to Natwest(before i found out about this test case). They have seven days to respond to my letter if i don't hear from them what should i do proceed or wait till after the case and will this mean i don't get the full six years back i have claim for.:mad:0 -
hi toni,
just wanted to say thanks for the number. I have now had a read through your messages, and now feel quietly confident about getting my money back asap.
I will make a phone call tomorrow, and let you all know how it goes!!
WISH ME LUCK........0 -
Just thought that maybe they might be there (chief exc office) so I just tried calling 0131 5568558........................apparently, 'this number does not accept incoming calls'
I will try the 0207 6721770 in the morning, but I am now VERY CONFUSED!!0 -

Hi,
What i said when i spoke to the chief exec office was to explain i had signed a full and final offer and their website states offers which are full and final wont be relooked at after oft test case, But people who havent responded will be sent another letter stating new terms and given 8 weeks to respond.
I stated if i had signed a full and final offer (which was sent *signed for*)before the 27th(the date on their site of new criteria) why was i in the not returned offer catergory? and why were they revisiting my case when they state they wont? lso im in the middle of ivf and the money i had claimed was my payment for the final procedures, i explained quie bluntly i had injected my belly for weeks and paid over 2grand to get this far and watch it all collapse because they had reneged on a formal offer.
Just state your case and dont be fobbed off, i stayed in charge and told them i would ring them back in a few hours for updates, it took 8 calls but igot my money within 36hrs of first call by perservering and driving them nuts.
Good luck, remeber they are in the wrong on this big time not us.;)#JusticeForGrenfell0
