I've followed all Martin's instructions since Febraury this year, using the template letters and still I end up going to court. Why? I've been given a date for the hearing for 27th September - can anyone advise me on how I should be best prepared. I really want to beat the Bank. And get my money owed - nearly £2000 in 'unfair bank charges'.0

your basicly going to court cos natwest have nothing in the way of a consistant approach to dealing with the claims/complaints.
you only need to go thru this board to see that, its just unfortunate that your complaint has landed on the "mess around and stall em as long as possable" pile.
unfortunaly mine ended up there as well, so your not allone0 -
Take a look at the Consumer Action Group website and the relevant thread for your bank. They will help you out. Dont be worried, there's thousands of us doing the same.0

Hi Shuv,
Don't know if you've seen any of my other posts, but I'm helping my DH claim his charges back against Natworst. We are going to court tomorrow. I originally started his claim on 22nd Jan 07 and here we are almost 7 mths later! I agree there is no consistancy to Natworst claims some go to court others don't. Just to put it in prospective my little baba Harvey was born 5 days before I started the process and he's gonna be 7 mths on 17th Aug!
If you have any questions about how Natworst work or what has happened to us please feel free to ask.
I will say it does also depend on the court you are going to, we are with Bristol city court and they seem to see these cases as wasting courts time and are on the claimants side (well we'll know for def tomorrow!)

I decided to jump on the bandwagon and thought I'd try my luck with NATWEST!
It took a little longer than expected, but after claiming £1880 of charges (with interest) they offered me £1740. My offer letter arrived on Wednesday 27th July. I signed the declaration and accepted their offer (letter also stated that the money would be credited to my account within 10 working days) and posted it back the same day. (1st class) They would have received my acceptance back on the Thursday. I was extatic, couldn't believe my luck!!!!
Then, they go to court.
I phoned them on Friday (3rd Aug) to see when the money would be in my account, and they then inform me that I would have to wait ANOTHER 2-3 WEEKS for another offer letter (didn't explain why, but I assume I need to agree that whatever the outcome of the test case, I wouldn't be asking for more) then once that one is received, it would be paid into my account within 10 working days.
I can't help thinking that they are taking the p*** and are playing for time.
I think that, I accepted their offer before the 'test case' and therefore, I shouldn't have to wait even longer.
Has anybody else had this problem? and should I just go with the flow, or start kicking up a fuss??0 -
