shamrock, please read your posts as your answers are in your posts.

have told me only claims prior to the 23/07/07 are being processed.

All claims have been suspended, you had an offer which you accepted.

My offer letter was dated 19/07/07 but I received it on the 26/06/07 and returned it in the SAE on that day. I wasnt supposed to receive it until 27/07/07 which is why I accidently put that date.

I don't understand what you mean about not supposed to receive it until 27/07/07, but I assume although the letter was dated 19/07/07 by the time it was typed and put to the mail room receiving it on 26/07/07 would be about standard.
My 8 weeks was up on Friday 27th so I thought that was a date I had to go by as they had the right to take those 8 weeks to finalise the decision. i will check the account when the 10 days is up but they are saying on the telephone that I need to sign a renewed document accepting the offer again which wont be with me for up to 3 weeks.

I was only told by telephone that it would be in my account within 10 days and not in the offer letter. It states payment direct to bank account when bank actions the offer.

I assume that you phoned on 26/07/07 when you received the offer to be told this so then you can complain 10 days from the bank receiving your letter if the money isn't in your account.
I wasn't supposed to receive the letter until 27/07/07 as this was the day the 8 weeks were up and I thought that they were entitled to the full 8 weeks to come back with a decision for you. I will check my account in 10 days from the offer date but have been told I have to sign a renewed offer letter which will be with me in up to 3 weeks. Apparently the letter my partner and I signed is no longer enough.I have complained about that but have been told that it stands.

Ive just got of phone to lady in london who has not sent me fax of the new letter yet, she says its been drawn up and they will call me within an hour to make sure i have it and have faxed it back,
This is torture like pulling teeth, two days now ive sat around waiting for calls that i have to keep chasing up,

I rang the directors office in scotland and explained my hardship and how i percieve i had been misled by cru and natwest website and that is how i have got to this position of waiting for new offer letter to be faxed.

will let you know when i actually get it

I used advice from Toniq and called up RBS Chief executive office with regard to the revised letter being sent to me for our joint acct. I spoke to a lovely lady who has been sympathetic and if I have not received this letter by next Tuesday I've to call her back and then she will fax me a copy to sign and send back on the day to hurry it along a bit. Although I've been told this morning on receipt of the letter it would be a further 7 days to credit the account by customer relations she says 2 days. Also any charges accrued since claim have to be added on bottom and if agreed will be credited also. I'm happy with this result. According to her the OFT have designed this letter for the bank to stop people trying to claim interest on offers already made and accepted after the test case ruling.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I'll ask anyway - have just paid visa bill (natwest) 30/7/07 and been informed that will have 12 quid charge on bill for late payment - is it my fault that the bank are so dog slow that it takes 3 days to go to visa? Technically its in the terms and conditions (3 working days I believe). It does pee me off though that they're charging me roughly 25 percent on a £40 visa bill - for their 19th century system. I have called Natwest Visa but they were nice but firmly useless, saying it was between the bank and myself. What do the experts here advise? TIA.
    Anybody?
  • hi new to the forums just a question ,i recieved an offer letter from natwest a couple of weeks ago , however this was before the oft annoucement and while i had registered on mcol . there time limit was until today (surprise) they defended the claim . which means i have to wait for a court date.

in veiw of the recent oft annoucement i have decided to accept the offer,
what i wanted to ask is the wording in the letter , to see if i can claim the recent charges that have been applied to my account (if in the future we get the chance to reclaim them again)that i cant ever claim them again.

    the wording as follows
" i accept your offer in full and final settlement of my complaint (Advantage packaged account fees, stopped cheque fees, intrest and charges refunds already appliedto your account will have been excluded as appropriate)"

does this mean i can never claim again?

    Shazzy dave,

Natwest are sending out revised offer letters because of the clause of not being able to reclaim in the offer letter you have at moment,
Obviously in anticipation of the case going against them.

Ask them if you are not sure, and the chances of you sending that back and getting paid out are slim as they ae sending the second offer letter out at mo.

    good luck

Im as we speak waiting on a chief exec rep call me back to somehow sort this madness out, i escaped the dealine they say and are transfering money into acct in next few hours!!yeah right!

The wording im not 100% on but from what i have been told by chief exec rep its do with allowing you to claim more if ruling goes against banks.

Its a pain big time but the new letter gives you a fresh two months to mull over and decide what you are doing.

    Hope that helps.
