I spoke to FSA today over the same thing, I found them very helpful on my individual case. it might be worth a quick call... Good luck
  • Can someone please tell me if the Natwest will honour its letters of offers. I sent back an acceptance of an offer on 9th July 2007 and was told a cheque would be with me in 10 days. I didn't want it put into an account as I had closed it anyway. It has not arrived and when I called them they said they have not received my acceptance form and will not post out another copy and that they are not entitled to pay out now. I still have their original offer letter. Can they retract their offer as they have not received/lost the form? They said there would be a letter sent out in 3 weeks because of the test case and I may now not get anything they offered. Can they do this?

Hi this is my first post, i'm just checking to see if anyone has won against Natwest credit cards as nearly all the Natwest success stories seem to be for bank charges and not the credit cards.
So far they offered me £186 against a claim for £596 plus 67.17 interest.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

Im beyond upset after getting off phone to Natwest,
I had sent my offer letter back and have proof through signed for delivery that they recieved it last friday 27th july,i accepted as it was £1960 i had asked for £2200, so i thought the settlement was fair, anyway Friday im told the money will be in my account in 7 to 10 working days.
Now im told that i have to wait for a letter with new terms and conditions and then respond to get my money, but they say the letter has not been drawn up and will be here in approx 3 weeks.

Thats too late for my ivf treatment, i would have injected for treatment for weeks for nothing, im so upset and angry, i signed a form stating i accept full and final. so what is the issue.

Please help me if you can.

I am in the court process and spoke to Cobbetts today as they did not comply with the court bundle order, and now are saying that they are applying for stays adn not offering anything and that they did not employ delaying tactics, I've got a claim upto nearly £6200 with them. Aggh and run out of time to accept their first pityful offer. What do I do?

This seems to be what they are doing. I had an email stating that my offer letter had been sent out and then I was told verbally that it had been sent.
I have called them again and they said all they are allowed to say is that new lettes will be received in the next three weeks. Worrying thing is they didn't even ask for acc no so it is a standard response.
I am trying to find out if an email saying I will receive an offer is classed as an 'offer' that they ave to honour as per there website. I have got a feling that they are going to shaft everyone and refuse to make anymore payments.
You are lucky though because I got a further email today which stated that an offer will only be honoured if I had received a letter from them.
I have now sent a further email to them stating that I believe the email that I received is the same as receiving an offer and the only response I can get now is that it has been passed on to the department dealing with reclaims.
I replied and basically said just tell me i my claim is going through or if it is on hold. I was told "As previously stated I have passed your email to the department dealing with claims".

Can any legal person advie if the email I received can be counted as a legal offer if it states that my claim has been verified and I should receive an offer within the next ten days.

    Sorry for the rant

  • Hi there,

I haven't posted on one of these forum things before, but here goes:

I'm in the process of trying to reclaim my charges from the ever difficut Natwest!!! This has been going on since Jan 07 I sent them my original letter waited 8 weeks to March 07 only for them to say they never received my letter. So I re-sent it and waited 8 weeks and heard nothing so sent a letter chasing in May 07, they then made me an offer and said that they had sent me a letter detailing the offer which I have still not received I have sent other letters chasing them and threatened to go to court, I've phoned them weekly and they have supposedly sent me duplicate letters which I have not received!!!!!!

So I decided to contact the Financial Ombudsman and that was last month but they have a back log and have not got back to me yet, but in light of the OFT test case they are not likely to, as they are placing cases "on hold".

What I really want to know is, now from having read the articles on here, whether I can still accept the offer Natwest have made despite the fact they have never sent the letter and the offer is usually valid for 2 months from the date of the letter????????

I can't seem to get them to send me the letter, and so I am getting nowhere fast on this one!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone got any ideas or know of a way to make them co-operate??????

The answer is as they have made me an offer they are going to honour it and are due to be sending letters to all their customers so watch this space!!!!!!

I rang Natwest on Monday and they said they had recv'd my offer letter back last Friday, they checked the system and my claim had been taken off there database so she said that was a good sign and the money should be in my account with 7 working days.
I am now worried, as i am relying on that money now.
Will have to ring Natwest tomorrow to find out what is happening.

If you have proof through signed for delivery that they received your acceptance letter, then I don't see how they can now move the goalposts like this. Hope someone can advise you on how to take this forward.

    good luck,
