Evenin' all,
Just thought I would let you know that today I got my cheque from the bank after negotiating direct with Cobblers. Basically said I would settle for the charges plus MCOL fee, Natwest said no, Cobblers said yes on their behalf..
My court date was set for October & I couldnt be bothered waiting til then so made the offer & it worked, so if you're happy to take your charges plus your MCOL fee like I was give Cobblers a buzz, they play dumb but they get there in the end! I know a lot of people on here have filed with MCOL re Nastywest & then got an offer a week later!!
1 Down, 5 to Go!!
Thanks Martin & especially frugalpam who helped me early on :T

wow these threads are an eye opener arn't they.
I have a small Natwest account that I have been trying to close as they seem to add a £28 charge every month because I have been as little as 52p overdrawn several months ago.
Each month since the charge is added to the account.
They won't close it as they have now added another £28 charges!!! Why for god sake.
I am an OAP and can't afford to pay these payments yet they won't close it until I fork out another £28 pound......where the hell do they think I am going to get it from my £58-70 state pension!!
Anyone any recomendations here please.
JBWaddle you do eh?0 -

Hello. I tried looking back through this thread but there was too much to try and sift through
I just got another 2 charge on the Credit Card, a late payment fee (received no statement to tell me it was due!) and an overlimit fee (which was only because of the late payment fee!).
I am currently in the process of MCOL for this card (got as far as acknowledged). Can I claim these charges back?0 -
I started my claim at the beginning on June, rang Customer relations middle of june i think and i spoke to someone who said they have made me an offer of the charges but it would take until the end of july for a offer letter to be sent out.
have been ringing every week since to be told no decision had been made, bit strange when someone had told me previously that a decision had been made.
Anyway rang last Tuesday 17th to be told an offer had been generated on Monday 16th but would take a further 14 days for a letter to be sent, so rang yesterday to be told a letter had been sent on Friday 20th.
How long do you all think this would take?
I am so fed up of waiting for the post to drop through the door in the hope it will be the letter from natwest.Started slimming world 4th November 2010

Hi smegs,if you reclaimed your charges at the beginning of june, then you should receive your offer letter any day(possibly tomorrow if they did send it on friday!),they do send the letters 2nd class, but hang in there, the end is possibly near,(we received our offer from rbs at the end of the 7th week). Also once you sign and return the offer letter, the money is usually in your account after a couple of days.GOODLUCK:)0

Had court date through for early September. Thought I would have a go at writing to Cobbetts suggesting a figure I would settle for, so that we didn't have to go to court. Got a call from this rather nice lady today making me an offer, which I have accepted. Its £300 less that I asked for (interest/mcol costs) but I thought what the hell, its money I thought I had already lost, so if it cost me £220 to gain a couple of grand, then I'm quids in. Took a while to get to this point, but what a result. I'm a happy chappy. Just waiting for a cheque now and will withdraw court proceedings when it arrives. Martin, you are so fantastic with your brilliant advice and to all of you out there with your encouragement. Keep going chaps - you will get a result in the end!0

Dear all - don't give up.
I claimed a few months back - got a holding letter, then last week it happened.
Long, waffly letter stating how they believe the fees are fair and everyone has plenty of opportunity to ask if help etc. They also enclosed a few leaflets "for my future information" about fees and complaints procedure. All this went on for 1 page and I was beginning to gice up, but turn over and you find:
"however, having reviewed your case, and without admitting fault we'd like to offer you a settlement of £874"
This was the full amount claimed - should get it in 14 days .
I'd like to thank, onoce again, the people on this site and fora. Keep at it - you'll all be ok.

Hi Alex,if you've already returned your acceptance letter then i'd check your bank account, our money was paid into our account 2 days after they should have received our letter.Congratulations on getting your money back,as they say patience is a virtue :T :T0
