  • Bev, no you can sit tight and wait for the offer letter to arrive. Make sure you cross out any clauses that may be attached to it and you win.

  • I know all about that, but things are improving as 6 months ago you would have had to go to court to get your money back. Much easier albeit i am a fan of suing the bank if they do not respond within your deadline, but i can understand that sometimes it can be awfully scary.
You need to take advantage of the rest of the forum as well. Amazing what things you can learn.

Yeah - it's not so much the fact that it would be scary to go to court (although I would rather not obviously!!), its the fact that it seems to take around the same timescale to go down the County Court route, with a lot more hassle & money outlay, when you can just be patient & get paid out anyway.
I shall be looking at the rest of the site when I have some time, I am sure that there are a whole load of moneysaving tips I can pick up on here!!!!

  • Bev, recently someone who had been almost beaten into submission chatted to me in a chatroom on another charges forum and kept going and sued the bank, and they got paid out over £16k and they are now taking the bank on for pre 6 year charges. A tougher discipline but again they are having problems with getting their information because the bank are CLAIMING they only hold data for 6 years which i know is rubbish.
I have picked up a whole load of tips from here and so the site has so much to learn. I need to be awake 24 hours a day just to read it all!!!

Maybe you could send them a letter stating that you are prepared to accept this offer as a part payment on the basis that further charges have been added along with a list of the additional charges.

Well - I took Natwest to court, dealt with Cobblers, and now am STILL waiting for a local County Court date. I'm sick to death of the whole business, and wish I'd gone to the Ombudsman instead. This has been going on since February, and i could badly do with the money they owe me.

    Court? Never again.

Pam dont get despondent. I know it is easy for others to talk. I am not sure it is the court rather than just 'sod's law ' Some seem to get paid out so much quicker
Has any one else got advice for you surely there is something to hurry Nat West up.
