    Hi All,

Hope someone can help me, i have just contacted a company to help me get my bank charges back to me with there charge that they take for claiming back for me but what i am concerned about is my account is now closed and a default has been placed on my credit reports and says that the close of account balance is £2916.30.

The company that are claiming the moeny back for me have calculated the charges at £1616.00 and in the proccess of getting them back for me.

Could anyone tell me if they would actually pay out or just take it of the balance of what i owe to them.

Thank You in advance for all the replies.

The bank will repay the charges into the account claimed from as it is in a debt situation so this means that whatever amount you have agreed to pay this company you will have to pay yourself I'm afraid.

Yes it's for real - I added up referral fees, interest charges, the lot!

In that case it could be that the 50% the bank has offered is maybe nearer to what you can in fact claim.
  • I have finally got all my statements and it all adds up to about 1k, after a bit of advice...

    1. Should I make the claim with interest
    2. what is the address where I send my letter requesting for the money to be paid back

Its up to you whether you make a claim with interest use the calculator at the top of the board to work out how much it would be with interest and without interest it might help you to decide.

    Hi all,

Have just spoken to the Natwest Customer relations department regarding my claim which is up on Wednesday! Have been told they have made me an offer of £563.00, was claiming £680.42 + interest but it's money that I wouldn't of thought about, so anything extra is a bonus.

Thanks to everyone for their support especially martin and his website! Love it!!!

    Hello,

I'm at the pre-statement stage, I need to send the request plus the money. Two questions:
    1. does anyone know what the Natwest charge? I heard £10 quoted and a five from a different source. I don't mind paying a tenner, but if they themselves set the fee at a fiver, why spend more if I could spend less? ;)
    2. more importantly, people send a cheque. I haven't used a chequebook for _years_ and if I request one it will take between a week and eternity to get, and time is precious. Can I include _cash_ with my request OR specify: "yes, please debit my account in question (acc No, sort code, etc)?
I have also heard that the RBS address (Edinburgh) seems to work "quicker", than the NatWest one in Boreham Wood, what's the _current_ RBS one? There have been several...
Any tips would be reaaaally appreciated.

    Regards,

I recieved a standard letter from natwest on 1st June advising they were looking into my claim and would reply within 6-7 weeks or earlier.
Given that the 7 weeks are up tomorrow I rang them to enquire about the position. I was told that the FSA allow 9 weeks and that I should hear something by 1st August. Is this ok? Any advice given they have not contacted me to advise it would take longer than they originally said?

    Thanx

In a recent enquiry for my claim with natwest I was given a number to call which was answered along the lines of 'Hi RBS etc..'.
I asked if there had been an error as I was a Natwest customer not RBS but they informed me they were dealing with both RBS and Natwest claims. Forgive my ignorance but are these banks owned by the same??? If not is this ok under the DPA??

    Thanx

Hi, yes natwest is now part of ths rbs group, they are quite easy to deal with too! Also in reply to your post about being allowed 9 weeks, the fos actually say 8 weeks to sort out a complaint, natwest and rbs have been giving good offers at round about the 8th week,so it's probably worth waiting,we were offered all of our claim back within 8 weeks(from rbs).Have a read at the natwest thread, you'll probably find the posts on there really helpful, especially the ones from edinburghlass! GOODLUCK :money:
