Howdy. First post on here so be gentle. I got as far as a letter stating that they were looking at my claim, and would respond within 6-7 weeks. I waited until 24.06.2007, then filed a moneyclaim. I then rang them on the 25.06.2007 nad they said they would be offering me £1100 by the 10th July, (my claim was for £1200 plus interest, total £1700 approx).
I have had nothing in writing from them, and am now waiting for the 14 days from issue date on moneyclaim to file as ignored. I bet they do it on the last day ie 14.07.2007.
Can anyone tell how do they respond to the moneyclaim? Will it be on line, or in writing to me. What i am asking is do i just press the judgement start button on the 14th if "The defendant has not filed an admission or defence to my claim." What happens after that?0 -
Took me ages over 2 months to get my statements in the first place, but had to sent claim in by special delivery as the first one I sent by recorded delivery, Royal Mail lost. They received it on the 22nd May, on the 24th got a letter to say it would take 6 - 7 weeks to respond. Rang up once just to confirm it was being dealt with, then decided to stick it out till about 6 weeks and ring again, but didn't need too, received an offer last friday 6weeks and 2days after they received my claim, sent it back special delivery on saturday and it was paid into my account yesterday. So in total it took exactly 7 weeks from them receiving my claim to having the money in the bank.
So if you do stick it out they will pay out and it does seem to be 6 - 7 weeks.
Claimed £1900.00
Received £1817.00
thanks everyone for your help and Martin if hadn't seen him on TV would never have done this.

Well, Natwest are really sticking it to me now!!
I rang about a week ago to check on the progress of my main account (having already been sent an offer letter for my second account) and was told I was sent an offer on 26th March!! Only 4 weeks after originally asking for my statements.
Anyhoo, I asked for another to be sent as they were offering all my charges back, but not the interest.
So imagine my surprise, then horror, at finding an offer letter on my mat this morning, for the second account!!!
They're just dragging this out now, aren't they!!All Saints Addict!Saving points for Xmas '12Tesco 836 Boots 8585 Nectar 2710 -
Hey all,
Received a letter from Natwest saying that it would be 7 - 8 weeks for them to investigate. That will be up in two weeks time today so shall I send them the letter threatening court action and giving two weeks notice or shall I call them or write another type of letter or just wait it out?
Have to say this has been long winded but I certainly could not of got this far without the help of martins website!
Can't wait to find out if they give me an offer but if they don't I will be gutted.
Any advice much appreciated
The letter you got was a standard reply from Natwest saying it will take 6-7 weeks to resolve your complaint however you need to stick to the timescales as set out in Martin's template letters. You are giving the timescales not them the letters need to be sent following on from the previous one after the 14 days.
If you are threatening court action you need to send the appropriate LBA and have this in writing just incase it gets to the court stage.
Its up to you then if you dont hear anything and persue the action or whether you are prepared to wait it out.LBM - April 2007Claimed back my bank charges from Natwest - £1196Halifax Credit Card Claiming £467.35 Rec £467.35!/Capital One Card Claiming - £523.92/Barclaycard Claiming - £403.58 Rec £403.58/MBNA Claiming - £584.37 Rec£584.37Proud to be dealing with my debtsUpdate: 2009 - Currently claiming £1900 from Natwest0 -
Hi, i'm new to the forum so i'm not sure if this has already been addressed...
I'm with natwest and want to claim back the hundreds (perhaps thousands) that they owe me for bank charges, however i have an overdraft which i am at the limit of - having been a uni student twice over. (its 2k :undecided )
I'm just a bit worried about asking for my money back in case they close my account and demand their money back which i can not afford at the moment at all! I tried opening a student account with halifax and using the overdraft with them to pay off my natwest one if necessary but i wasnt able to...
Sooo... any suggestions?!
Thanks in advance for any advice given :T0 -

Ok, so I call Customer Relations today to get the right letter sent, and they tell me that I don't have a claim for that account!!
So, in the space of a week, 1 chap has told me I have been offered £725, the lady today tells me I haven't requested anything!
I am fuming!! :mad:All Saints Addict!Saving points for Xmas '12Tesco 836 Boots 8585 Nectar 2710 -
