wonderstuff wrote: »Another 10 days passed & still no letter. Spoke to RBS on Monday & she investigated & actually called me back saying one had been ordered on the 18th & I should wait until today, but instead rang Thursday to be told it was ordered 25th & issued 26th.
I accept there was a 1 day post delay, but even 2nd class you would expect it to arrive today.
At the end of my tether now. Appears I get different info every time I speak to them, but every time they confirm its been validated, so I dont want to jeopardise anything by instigating court action.
Dont know what to do anymore, it is now 32 days since they said the original letter was ordered. I have had at least 6 people say they will reorder it. 3 people give me different dates of it being reordered & still nothing.
Any suggestions?
Fingers Crossed but it seems to have finally come good. My letter was received on Wednesday & returned Thursday morning.
Not getting to excited yet as given how its gone so far I fully expect the letter to go missing, or them to key in £95.80 instead of £958.03.;)
Anyway assuming it does go in this week, a big thanks to the members of this site who's regular posting on here made me feel I wasnt alone in my frustration. & an especially big thanks to Martin for his step by step instructions, they were invaluable.:beer:0 -
Morning,
Has anyone a number for Natwest which I can call to see the status of my claim? Got the usual 6-7 weeks letter from them and just want to gently push things on a little.
Thanks!0 -
Just called Natwest for an update. They are still citing 8 weeks as allowed by the FSA for them to make an offer. Probably fed up with us all calling. So have to hang on in there for another 4 weeks.....groan!0

I have a looked through some of the previous posts but can't find the number of the complaints dept, I.ve had my offer and sent the acceptance letter back which Natwest received on the 4th June, however my account is with credit management and I've been paying off the overdraft monthly, needless to say I,ve stopped the direct debit as they have now paid off the debt but I'm still waiting for the balance to be sent to me, every time I ring I'm told it'll be with you soon, it's done in chronological order, how much longer do I have to wait, I have other debts that I want to use the money for, if someone could help I would be very grateful, just p***ed off now.Paid off so far Natwest overdraft £1900 Kays catalogue £200 Personal Loan £2500 Tax Credit £1300 J D Williams

Don't be dictated by their time scales or you'll be waiting till Christmas :xmassmile
If you are waiting for statements and its over 40 days complain to the ICO
www.ico.gov.uk and you'll get your statements within 2 weeks
If you have given them 14 days before you take it to court and you get fobbed off and past your 14 day deline, take it to court www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and don't forget your interest! 8% over six years is 48% (6x8=48) so if you got charged £10 six years ago you are entitled to £14.80 back when you win in court!
If you are going down the F.O. route then complain to them, they charge the bank £400 for every complaint (apparently) and the more of us that complain the sooner the banks will pay us all out what we are asking for!

Well, I agree with LOZ, the banks dictate when they choose to charge you and do not wait so STOP waiting, if you go to footie matches than you know the chant, "get into them, **** em up" My censoring of the word.
Be hardline and I work for them remember. Stick it to em. They normally pay into the account within two weeks, but keep copies of the return form in case it goes astray. If there are problems with the account being closed then PM me and i will tell you how to get it IF they fob you off(I have a reputation for knowing how to do it and a number of threads exist on other forums with the information). If you have been told the timescale, the question is, will you let THEM still walk over you. 14 days then 14 days then sue em. End of.
Sorry, got into that one when loz pointed that out.0 -

The one for Customer relations at Natwest is 0800 0154212. It can take a little while to get through though.
There is also one for RBS where I believe the claims are actually processed & that is 0845 3030456. They appear to be more helpful.
Cant believe it. Returned my letter to Natwest on Thursday & money paid in Monday morning. They finally did something quickly.
Thanks again to Martin & all at this site.:beer:0 -
Ok the Natwest had its 28 days yesterday and at 5pm they filed a defence Ahhh. So it now says online that it will be transfered through to a local court.
I guess they will now send me some more stuff to fill in, does anyone have any templates I can just cut and paste or any tips?
Also I didnt purposely pay off the overdraft as I wanted the charges refunded to clear this but now with Natwests high charges they have just hit me another £70 taking me over the overdraft will this matter in court?
I will be so glad when I have these idiots out of my hair!
Thanks,

I was wondering if anybody could give me a bit of advice please?
Natwest have been playing ball nicely so far with me. I received my statements within two weeks and I wrote back listing the charges I wanted to reclaim (4787 pounds) and giving them 14 days to reply.
Today, on the 14th day I got a letter telling me that my case will be looked into and I will receive a response within 6-8 weeks. It looks like a pretty standard letter to me to try and buy them more time. Are they allowed to do this? I thought the 14 days timescale was set to protect me?
Should I be sending another letter back now or do I simply wait 6-8 weeks?
Thanks
Bit confused. xA small Thank You can make a BIG difference0 -

The banks are allowed 8 weeks to respond to and deal with a customers complaint as per the guidelines laid down by the FSA. This is relevant if you wish to use the Financial Ombudsman to resolve matters as you would be required to exhaust the banks complaints procedure first.
If you will not be using the FO and will be using the court route then there is no requirement to follow those timescales yourself. You need only show to the court that you have allowed ample time for them to respond to and deal with your claim. You are entitled to follow the process laid out in the main article and timescales in the template letters.
Good luck0
