Afternoon please help as we are in a major panic, partner and I have visited Natwest for our Mortgage application which all seemed to be going well and affordability boxes were all ticked. However once the advisor submitted the application it has come back with please refer 😩 !!!

Arrived home and after thinking what can it be looked into info online and have come across pay day loans affecting application ! Last year I personnally took out pay day loans to increase my credit score (which it did) as I was advised to do so. But all websites are saying no lenders will lend ?

What do we do now ?? Please some sound advice

You would be better asking your question on the mortgages board where the posters/contributors are generally more clued up on the specifics of mortgage lending. :). Here ( on the main board here) while many are knowledgable questions are often more theoretical and more generalised.

    This has been answered elsewhere.

Lir, sorry to hear about fir's troubles but I do hope he'll feel he'll be better off out of there. Doesn't sound like it's been too comfortable a situation for a while. :(

Sorry not to be able to help FTB beyond suggesting that the House Buying, Renting & Selling and Mortgages and endowments threads might be the best place to ask.

I once almost took out a Zopa loan because it cost 10 quid and you could get £70 cashback but luckily I decided it wasn't worth the money.

Edit didn't mean zopa meant wonga...perhaps makes more sense now?
    I think....

Unlike you to sniff at £60 profit?

I guess it wouldn't work out as such a profitable activity if it trashes your credit rating and you can't take advantage of opening new e.g. credit cards and current accounts...

Thanks for sharing that with us, lir. Here's hoping for a wonderful job for fir, very soon, with nice bosses. :)

Sounds like fir has been under a lot of stress in not the happiest work environment.
Let's hope he finds a great new job very soon. We're all rooting for him, and for lir too.

+1 for everyone's replies - I just picked these two to quote.

Sorry to hear the news but glad to hear the reassurance that you're both OK at the moment. :)

In other news, I was [STRIKE]bored[/STRIKE] procrastinating about my final assessment this afternoon so went to see Fifty Shades of Grey. It was OK I guess but I can see why it hasn't won any awards ...

I think that was, almost word for word, my summary too.

Wasn't impressed by the emergency-stop style ending either!

It's accurate to the book that way, but if anyone hasn't read the book then a) they wouldn't have known that, and b) probably would have felt that the film itself was even blander than it appeared at first glance.

That all being said, Jamie Dornan has a fine set of pecs :o and it was a passable diversion for an otherwise empty afternoon :A :rotfl:
