Are they called godfathers?

Yes! That's what I'm looking for! Thanks Nikks. I would not in a month of Sundays have known to ask for a godfather. You are a star.
I wonder how they got their name. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? After local walk in hitherto never ever been to village I'd like to propose more of these to fir, if we have more time.
. Road walking still easier for me than 'rambling' and a small village is cover able on a tired day now I am physically not in pain often. Its fun for the dogs to see new places too. Even though the walk bit isn't long the break in routine is good for dogs and I and leaving my immediate area is nice.
it was a food distance today, local but not too local, so we'll have to think of a few more of those.

Lovely day yesterday, sat out in the front garden with a G&T and watched the insects busy about their business. Quite a lot of honey bees :j and a single bumbley, and 3 peacock butterflies. Fog rolled in from the river about 6 and it was thick this morning. Took till about 2 for it to clear and the sun come out, now signs it'll be rolling up again soon, and a definite chill in the air compared to yesterday. Had a rotten night, so not done anything today. Just very weary.

Hopefully more Thatcher than Gillard.
Funnily enough we were discussing equality of opportunity vs equality of outcome the other day.
You end up having some very strange conversations when you have kids. E.g. yesterday in the car:
The Girl: Daddy, can I ask 2 questions
Me: Sure
The Girl: The first one is, why is the sky blue?
Me: Well <snip> photons <snip> excited electrons <snip> more blue <snip> emitted at a right angle
The Girl: Oh, okay. The second question is, is it right for me to keep the $3.55 I just found please?
From simple particle physics to the philosophy of property in a couple of minutes.
Likewise. I had a swift transfer from "how do polaroid sunglasses work?" to "what does it mean when it says 'free house' on the front of a pub?" this afternoon.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Are we nearly there yet?0

Had a near miss in the car earlier.
Stopped the middle of a roundabout at lights, the middle lane is for next exit or continue around the roundabout, left lane for exit, right lane continue on roundabout.
Good job I have good brakes and reasonable reactions as a car cut across in front of me to continue around the roundabout from the left lane.
Worries me how some people don't understand you can't just go all the way around a roundabout around the outside.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

You know these threads are never locked now, so there's no need to panic? Misskool was the admin who could close them and she's otherwise engaged.
