Never been to SLC, but have been to the state. Did you travel around or stick to SLC?

Once you've had a flat bed, it's hard going back to normal.

We just had slow roast fillet of lamb (with garlic and rosemary and thyme) with roasties, peas and mint sauce and gravy. Forgive the capitals, but YUM!

Day's weather has just got better and better as it went on. But another recovery day for me. Tomorrow hope to get bath and get out to either old home or lottie. Anyway here's today's photo from bedroom.

I'm worried I'm being boring sending these photos - please someone let me know if you'd rather I didn't.

Toying with getting a new Kindle Fire after seeing the offer on HUKD, but think would prefer to pay a bit more for the 16 Gig one of this one.

Any suggestions of better? Will pass old one on to OH so he can take photos to show his Mum on it. Am also wondering if she might be able to use one as at her new Nursing Home they have wi-fi. Guess OH can take one in for her to try out and see. She's very frail, and it might well be more than she can cope with. :(

I for one, love seeing them so please don't stop.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Back to reality... off out to do some gardening as I think tomorrow is due to be a couple of degrees even cooler than today. Even more back to reality was making it to the supermarket yesterday just in time to get a load of veg at 90% off :)

My sil has this at her house, makes a huge difference. I'd guess her house is a little smaller than lir's, but not a lot in it. My bil is an electrician who specialises in stuff like that.

We got Cat 6 put in in the new extended bit and I ran a bit of a lashup back to the router which is in the original bit so the wire just surface runs down one corner. IN the loft we have a gigabit switch (which annoyingly sometimes stops and needs a trip into the loft to power on and off), only annoyance is that I didn't get them to run a new connection down the old cavity wall and into the front room which is the study/dining room so this is only connected via homeplug. At some point I plan to put the media on a server in the loft next to the switch but it never seems to be a priority.

I also love the photos, each one is a little moment of mindfulness.

I quite fancy the idea of adding an indoor swimming pool in the garden which s pretty unheard of in a semi. What do NP think? It would have a load of opening patio doors all along the S facing side so be able to be semi-outdoors in suitable weather, it would need tobe permitted development so eaves height 2m and ridge height 2.5m so not a huge high airey space, more of a glorified summer house, pool would be 8m by 3m, it would take up half the garden for about 40 feet leaving 70 feet of full width garden.
    I think....

It'll reduce the value of the house I would imagine. If you don't care about that then go for it.

A friend bought a house with a pool that takes up half the garden. He wishes it wasn't there. They make a "big decision" each spring on whether they are going to go through the hassle and expense of getting the pool, cleaned, disinfected and heated for Summer use or whether not to bother. Definitely in the 4 figure bracket to use it each Summer. Add to that that your kids' friends will be playing at yours more than at theirs.....

If you want a pool I'd buy one of the best dismantleable ones. It will give the play space without the permanence. In terms of pools, I've heard that the revitalised pool at Westminster Lodge is one of the best in Herts too.

I wouldn't go to the expense, it won't add value, could put people off and be a pita when the novelty wears off.

I think garden pools are way too small, certainly would be odd on a semi and would put me off buying such a property and trust me I am not fussy and can see past most things. They are fine in sunny climates where no heating is required or for the multi millionaires with 10 bedrooms and the land to build it.

I agree with viva erecting it in summer when we have a nice heatwave.
