I have now lost 1 stone 6lbs and Josh 1 stone 6.75lbs. Josh has actually lost more as we didn't have scales to weigh him when he started, so have no idea what he lost in the first 9 days.

To get round the damaged part of his brain, his diet is very restricted compared to normal diets but so far, he is coping absolutely brilliantly. ..even if I have to manage it for him as he gets hopelessly confused by it all.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Would it not be more logical to become Bangladeshi?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    I've been Money Tipped!
That's been my failing, not being a "yes" person - although, in a detached role, as a project manager, it's OK to not be a yes person as you save the project.... but you don't make mates. As a contractor you're not there to make mates, but to get the job done, so long as you don't care/don't want mates, that's fine... but then the jobs keep ending as they're contracts.

Not being a yes man is weirdly twisted into "not a team player" when, in fact, you ARE a team player - on the right team.... but the sheep don't see it as they're too busy licking 4rses to look around and see what's really going on.

How many more days does he have to actually "grin and bear it"?

Depends. If he finds a job, they'll let him out tomorrow. But they are not going to throw him out. He has a comfortable period in which to look.

A friend had a horrid interview experience for a magic circle firm where they gave a project todo with building a tower out of paper and a rubber band and. Paper clip or some such, where the group were told it was to determine who had good leadership skills.

Some were pushy and obviously poor leaders, some were not leaders, other were complimented on their excellent intelligent leadership skills......then told they were not going to be taken forward because the firm were not looking for leaders but team players. IMO this shows extremely poor understanding of good people. A good leader would know when to apply the skills of his group and to sit back and play tem, good leaders are still part of teams on projects and in business structure. IMO its this kind of thinking that has lead to a problem that has been building over years in London's legal practice....because it encourages this game playing mentality where much of the day is not about billable hours or relationship building, or even business management or colleague well being.

Funny you should say that. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hear those words this afternoon. If not those words exactly then them under a layer of ahem, stuff.
